High-level, dedicated friend.
What to do: Create a new character, and choose any job you like. Have your high-level friend escort your character to jeuno, and, once there, make a macro that goes something like;
[Start]
/sh High Stakes Casino @ <pos>, come gamble!
/wait 1
/sh Minimum bid: [200k] / Maximum: [500k]
/wait 1
/sh Roll 590-959 for 2x, and 960-999 for 3x!

Once made, travel to Lower Jeuno and sit down by 'the fountain'. Once sitting, spam your macro, and have your friend pretend to place a bid of 500k. To do this well, just open up the trade window with him and keep it there. Then /s '*friend* is in for 500k!'. Have your friend type /random to roll, and, if he loses, say something like 'Awww, that's too bad! Care to try again?'- if he wins, however, say something like 'CONGRATULATIONS, FRIEND HAS WON 1000k!' (Or 1500k, whichever it was, supposedly.) Eventually, by doing this, you will attract actual, _real_ players. If people bid and lose, do the same thing you did with your friend. Eventually, however, someone WILL win. And when the inevitable happens, simply stand up, send all of the proceeds to your main character, log out, take the money out of your mog house on your main, and then delete your mule. And there you have it; at least 200k made in a small ammount of time, with no effort required. You do not necessary have to delete your mule, either- after a couple of days, you can log back on and repeat the process with the same friend, or another one. This is my main way of making gil, and it has yet to fail me. People are always willing to bid- Now, I don't know if this merits a premium membership, but I'd be glad to obtain one of possible. ^^
