Prevent petrify/Jump of the airship : FFXI Submissions

Vs Certain enemies that have eye specials there’s a trick to avoid getting affected – TURN AROUND. If you turn around before Cockatrice/Lizard readies Baleful Gaze or Torama readies Chaotic eye, if you are not facing them you will not get affected by petrify or silence respectively.

How to get of the main deck of the airship? From the left side of the way the navigator NPC is facing on the main deck scroll the camera around till you find a white stripe on the outer part of the airship b/w the NPC and the little standing place outside the ship. Run into that area that connects that white strip and you can get off the ship.

it will say so and so has no effect on you....with a pld and earth staff, the only thing you have to worry about toramas is paralyze since that does not require a monster to use its eyes on you.


so...do i qualify for membership ^^;

oh and if you fight weapons and you see it "xxx readies smite of rage" (single hit special not whirl of rage which is the multi stun one) you can run out of its range. What you do is start the fight at the minimum amount so you can hit him with your weapon and keep your self unlocked on the target. When you run away, it will say xx is too far away which saves the whm some mp as well as essentially make the weapons useless for 2-3 sec.

if the gaze strategy is correct, you are a simple genius. I guess i should have watched "Clash of the Titans" again and watched the part with Medusa. I will check it out!!!
