Surviving in "De_Dust" (T) : FPS / MMORPG / RTS Discussion

Alright, so you have played de_dust and you keep getting fragged. Well, it is either because you suck, your team sucks, or you do not know the map. If you suck, then I really can't help you. If your team sucks, it is probably you that sucks, but if you are getting killed because you hate the map, I could give you some pointers. This guide is for a game with at least 12 people, a real game.

Here is what the map looks like:


Alright, so unless you are camping spawn you are either going to go into the tunnels or under them. If you decide to camp, you can hide in the upper-right hand corner or the lower-right hand corner. These are the only two good places to hide if you are by yourself, any other place will leave you at a disadvantage under confrontation or will not give you good enough cover. However, if your full team (5 or more) is camping, feel free to station yourself wherever you want as long as you can see your teammates and they can see you.

If you are going into the tunnels at the beginning of the round rushing, always go left. Do not go towards the CT spawn (B), instead go directly into B. If there are CT goons guarding B, quickly run past the opening and throw a frag grenade in as you run by. Quickly throw a flashbang next to make sure they don't follow you. Once you are at B, secure the area and get the bomb planted.
