No what I did was I saved a system restore point and I wanted to see what it did and I ran it and halfway I deleted it.

I almost completely destroyed my computer by doing that and I would've had to buy a new one even though this one's fairly new.

Dont have to buy a new one... just format the pc and fresh install xp ;)

System restore is nothing but software side. It wont do anything to your hardware or bios or anything that could render your system useless ;)

According to a few sources on the net, changing this value on XP systems will not change anything. Apparently on OS's after w2k sp1, the OS no longer references this and the value is locked at 64mb.

It's really a matter of opinion, some people think its of the devil because there are aledged exploits with Plug and Play but when you think about it, was has microsoft made that cant be exploited?
