Contests Should Not Be Random : General Discussion

i think that the contest shouldnt be random, that is so !@#$%^&*, i think it should be person with most yays or something like that... it is just plain stupid to do it random =(

who said iys random? as i understand it its a logo for their site, GZ to us who actually went to school to do this

well it cant be the person with the most yays because you saw in a previous contest. only the first few people who entered got 10+ yays. all the rest got tons of nays. Also this months/possibly next months contest is not random. if we like yours the most it will go up. changes are mods wont get to choose but if the owners like it its taken

why did only the first few ppl get 10+ yays...? probably because theres was better!!! and may i ask what was it that actually got ek the wii? can someone show me his post please?

My comments:

- I think random is okay. Sometimes when things are done by voting it ends up to be a personality contest, which is not the point.

- I *am* surprised it's open to the public, since I would think that making these contests for members only would encourage membership and perhaps build a larger, more diverse community (sorry, that's the moderator in me talking lol).

actually some of the later submissions where MUCH better than the first few. even then they almost never got the 10+ nays for the extra entry even if they where better. what won him the wii was a post, a single post. that was all that was required last contest. a single post somewhere if you where a premium member got you a entry. and then at the end of the month all the names where put in a hat and a owner of the site (not TA) choose it and then told TA who told me to post it up.

First of all i edited your top post. Secondly this december contest is not random. Its going to be selected by a few individual. I dont think it says its random ill make a bold statement saying the contest will be selected by key staff members. We did last months randomly cause it was something fun for all. Keep in mind we want this site to be usefull to you and fun to be apart of

i think hes just upset he didnt win, i blame the parents for teaching kids to keep hopes up. better off keeping it real like syz *puts on his frog costume* now if youll excuse me, i have work.

whats wrong with random? everyone has a equal, and random chance of winning. JayJay is just steamed because he didnt win, and then made up some bullcrap story in his head that explains why he didnt win. dont worry, one day youll mature.

oh btw, guess where i work? a meat proccesing plant, yes thats right, i get to work with blood all day long, and with a crazy boss. bassically, i just wipe the asses of other people over there. I FRIKIN SUCKS

lol i am a lil ticked off, but only because i actually spent time for my post, and many (maybe even most) of you may of thought that it was dumb but it is stupid if all u say is "hi, this is my entry", and u win... thats just stupid!!!!! i wasnt talking bout the dec. contest... i understand all ur opinions and stuff, im just saying...

why was it stupid that i was that though? that was the entire point of the contest. have one so easy that anyone who was a premium member could win.
