Decoding packets : General Discussion

The game I play is called The 4th Coming. I am interested in eventually creating a bot to do automated tasks for me.

I use Ethereal and WPE Pro to sniff the packets. This is my first attempt at doing any MMORPG hacking.

When I try to sniff the packets..I am getting 10+ packets a second and i can't really figure out which one is the one that i need.

Also..Is there anything else I need to decrypt and decode the packets?

Can anyone suggest links or books for me?
