Testing Edit Notification : General Discussion

Does anyone know why if i edit sometimes there is not an "edited post:1 times blah blah blah" Does it have to do before or after there is a response?
I am going to test in this post and let you know what i found out

Outcome:
Edit is only recorded if someone had already replied to your thread otherwise edit is not recorded.

Sorry to bother people with this thread but someone asked why there was and "EDIT: this is what i changed" yet no mention in my thread about an edit. Just wanted to dispel a non-issue

Does it matter hah.

I guess not but i just wanted to see what was up cause i found it odd and was intreagued.
Also i am just plain weird
