Since my Photoshop isn't working right now, I have found a GREAT alternative to it,
Paint.net. You can download it here, and the forum for support is here.

To get started, install, and open up Paint.net

You'll be shown with this:

Image

Now go to File > New

For this tutorial I'm showing you how to make a standard 400 x 100 signature.

Set the dimensions to 400 width and 100 length only.

Now go to Google Images at http://www.google.com/images

Type in Paladin, and find this http://wow.allakhazam.com/mediabox/paladin.jpg

Next type in Fire, and find this http://www.desktoprating.com/wallpapers ... 24x768.jpg

Now go ahead and download it.

Find the file, and right click > Open With

Now click on the arrow, which is shown below

Image

After that, click on the image, then click on the button next to it

This is called the Rectangular Selection tool, or Rectangle Select

After that, your image should be highlighted

Now press the following Ctrl + C, this will copy the picture

Now click on the upper section box, like so

Image

Press Ctrl + V, to paste it

Click on Keep canvas size

Now resize the image with the little circles around the image

You will get something like this when your done

Image

Now click on the button that looks like a Paint bucket

By default it should be set to black

Click on the Selection tool and click on the Grey area to deselect the picture

Now click on the Bucket tool again and Left-Click on the white area

This will make it black like so

Image

On the Layers palette, click on the + symbol on the left corner

This adds a layer, click on it

Now click on the button that has an " A " that is the Text tool

On the Right-hand corner, left click, and type in " Test "

Now on the Colors palette move the cursor around till you get a color you want

Now on the top find the number 12, this is the font size, change it to 16

Click on the Arial button, this is the font style, change it to Arial Black

It should now look like this

Image

Open up the Flame picture you downloaded

Create a new layer

Open up the picture, copy it

Select the new layer

Paste the picture into that layer, click on Keep canvas size

Move the picture around to your liking

Now on the Layers palette, click on the further most right button, labeled Properties

Under Blending Mode, click on Normal, and set it to Multiply

Set its value from 255, to 197

Click ok

It should now look like this

Image

Click on Background, on the Layers Palette

Click on Properties, set the value from 255 to 225 or so.

Congratulations, your signature is now complete

It now should look like this, I hope you enjoyed the tutorial

very good. The only thing is that the text really doesn't go with the picture that well, I think black text would be the way to go (or maybe some complementary colors to red/orange?), but don't make it too over-powering.

Lethal does wright pretty fantastic guides.

If it's the picture with a skeleton(?) with black hair(?), it's appearing fine. It looks pretty sweet.

Hey, I read your guide and it worked out great, but the thing I was wondering was, how do I get a link to my picture?
