On another topic someone has said that rare skins can fetch 30mil (30,000,000gp)

I enquired as to how much he thought that was. Someone else told me it was a realistic figure. BUT isn't the max gold you can have on Guild Wars (on any one account) is 1.4 mil? 1,400,000 gp.

If you had max stack of ectos it would be 1.7 mil (going with approx 7k per ecto).

So am I getting this all totally wrong? I've only ever had around 100k max on my account before I start spending it again (not much of a saver).

well u can get like 10 stacks of 250 ectos. so thats like 17 mil rite there according to ur figures.

so you'd need nearly 20 stacks of ectos for a rare skin?

The max trade screen will give you the option for 7 boxes to be filled. Would you trust someone to stand there and take multiple screens of ectos for nothing until you got to the magic figure. No way!

A lot of the trades for huge sums like that are made between fairly well known players who frequent the same sites, so there is less of a chance of one getting ripped off. Also, both parties will sometimes use a neutral 3rd party to hold onto the items being swapped and will verify everything before completing the trade (and taking a cut, of course).

30 mil is a large sum of money/ectos. I don't think it has ever gone that far. Maybe around 3 mil. That is just like Bill Gates came into GW. You can hold 250 Ectos btw. So the 7 slots wouldn't be a problem.

Yes we know that, we're saying that 7 slots of 250 ectos makes it around 12million only.

Anyway I still think someone would be daft to pay that sort of figure.

I highly doubt that those people are trading over 10 million gold worth of ectos. If they are they need lives or they are bot farming majorly.

If somehow you manage to find a Max Gold Crystalline Sword, req8/9 15^50 20/20 Sundering +30 HP Mod then it would be worth that amount, the trade is done via 100k and stacks of ecto, which tend to be worth 7k each. But i dont think anyone would be too bothered if they only ended up with 1750 Ecto and an extra 100k, would you be?
