A working money exploit! : GW Submissions

Items give full benefits to a user whether they're identified or not. If you find a rare sword with a 30 HP pommel in it, you can equip it and you'll get the +30 HP even though you haven't identified the weapon yet.

This is a huge moneymaker for a skilled trader. You can buy and sell unidentified max shields for 4 plat each. Buy a bunch of them, then walk outside of town and equip all of them. You can tell which have the coveted +health modifier from watching your own health bar. If it has that mod, identify the shield and sell it for over 100 plat of pure profit. If it doesn't, resell the shield unidentified to get your money back.

You can apply this to weapons, too. +health, +energy, and life stealing mods are easy to identify and you can figure out the rare mod as well with practice. You can easily make 100k+ per hour with this exploit.

This is very old. How do you think all the farmers ident all the gold unids they sell? Try buying a batch of unid axes (say) off them and you'll find most will be 15under50 or some such.

All you do is go to a known target (I find the practice targets in Balthazar's Island are perfect). Equip a clean axe (again using axe as example), hit a target and note the hit points. Equip the unid axe, hit a target and compare - did it hit for 15% more or 15% less? Does a stance make it hit for 15% more?.

Cast a short-enchantment like Healing Breeze and time it - did it last 12 seconds and not 10? Then the axe has a 20% enchant mod and so on.

HP is very easy of course cos it reflects in your HP bar.

Btw you won't get rich buying unids off traders cos most of them know all the tricks and already know they are selling you rubbish unids - buyer beware ;)
