Cruel Was Daoshen can be casted on any ally (including Spirits, Minions, Pets, Party Members, Heroes and other NPC's). It forces them to hold the ashes of Cruel Was Daoshen.

Dropping the Ashes prematurely (be it manually, or through death) causes a PBAOE DD effect. Allowing the spell to expire normally does not cause this.

Using Serpents Quickness or Quickening Zephyr etc allows you to cast the Ashes on a target which already has it (forcing them to drop the ashes, and giving them another set).

Casting this on a Mirage Cloak/Mystic Sandstorm Dervish can allow him to get in his 209 damage PBAOE DD spike, along with 212 damage from a pair of Cruel Was Daoshen (by recasting the ashes just before it wears off, the dropping it), if executed properly. This allows 421 damage to be done by just two characters, with a relatively fast recharge.
