Get the mod w/o destroying the weapon/armor : GW Submissions

If you equip the sword, staff, axe, shield, armor or anything else u want the mod for then u salvage it while equiped u will get the mod and the weapon/armor will never be destroyed

You can in fact salvage items you have equipped.

I tested with a Poisonous Storm Bow of Defense (max but high req) and I successfully salvaged both mods from it while I had it equipped.

I'm gonna test a bit more before I say this is good.

edit: ok...did a bit more testing with other items and this is a bad tip...you can and will destroy items if you try this just like you will if you salvage them while they aren't equipped. And Yes I lost the storm bow (didn't care about it anyway).

you didn't tell me anything...you said items that are equipped can't be salvaged....which is completely false....nothing more...you did no testing to prove whether or not his "tip" was true...I did...

i never said it wouldnt get destroyed if u try to salvage it i just said u wouldn't destroy the item trying to get the mods/runes and according to u, u got both mods from the strom bow

where did you say it wouldn't get destroyed again?

you claimed that if you equipped a weapon, shield/focus, or armor and then try to salvage a mod/rune from it, it would never be destroyed. The facts of what occurred while I was testing this tip directly contradict your claim.

Here's what I did to test:
Had a storm bow with a suffix and prefix mod on it.
First try I successfully salvaged both mods off of it.
Reapplied both mods to the bow.
Tried salvaging it again...success on the prefix...bow was destroyed after I salvaged the suffix mod.

This directly contradicts your claim. You claimed that the item would never be destroyed while trying to salvage an item you have equipped. There's no way I can give this tip a confirmation. Your claim is completely false.

o i guess ur right but a weapon hasnt been detroyed yet for me so i guess im just lucky

You can increase your chances if the item is inscribeable. Just get a "highly salvageable" inscription and apply to the item u need mods from. I greatly increases the chances of getting your mods back. I use this on a regular basis as "highly salvageable" inscriptions are very common.
