Can't get XU working again on a machine : Legacy General & Troubleshooting

Had a problem with Norton Antivirus thinking one of the XU files was a trojan horse so quaranteened the file and sent to Symantec. They sent me back an email saying it was falsely IDing the file and to download a updated def. file (they supplied an ftp link) after un quaranteening the file. Did that rebooted and it seemed to have worked. Went to load XU and it stops loading at "XUnleashed Client: Launching. . ." that's the last entry in the log file.

I then deleted the XU directory, re-downloaded it and extracted it into the new folder then downloaded the services and manually updated it (AMD user). rebooted and tried again and I get the exact same problem. No bar and XU appears to stop functioning after it says launching. It does fire up EQ2 but there is no bar attached to the bottom of the window like there normally is.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
