The rumor has finally came true. You can now signup for the planetside 2 beta. Sony is not going to tell us when the beta takes place but it can normally be assumed in the next 6 months at least the beta will start up.
The original planetside had a giant following until the game released very unfavorable patches. The community revolted but sony stayed the course. Ultimately the game dropped subscriptions. However the planetside 2 sequel is said to be more of the same that players loved originally.
