All Members With TUBucks Read Here - New Rep System : Site News

Alright everyone we have officially moved to a new system which we aim to help the community more we have some pages to edit so members can learn about all the fun features. What we did was move from the tubucks system to the rep mod system and here is why and some big features about how it works.

WHY WE SWITCHED

- Now users instead of gaining points for posting and spamming the site they will gain points for helping others and being active on the site. No more spamming the necro posts for certain users.

- It will be faster to get back to members for replies but this first week we will be backed up so please be patient.

- This will make users gaining premium easier for their hard work and submissions. Also works should be moved faster.

- You can easily help contribute directly to someone gaining premium just by being a helpful members.

- TUBucks where getting out of control for some members and this way the numbers will be lower but the rewards will still be great.

HOW IT WORKS

- Now instead of just hoping to get 1k tu bucks from posting or having your item moved to premium you will get reps as well towards premium.

- You will still get rep for your submissions but you can pile up on them. So if you create a great bot and get 100 reps for it maybe another 100 members will rep it so you have a total of 200 reps for your work.

- For every 100 reps that will grant you 1 year of premium. So the member that gained 200 rep for his submission just gained 2 years of premium off the bat.

- We are also going to look at the rep system of how well people are earning them to help not only put a max for amount of reps per day, but make it so after x amount of reps you can turn them in for real cash. We are looking at probably 500 or 1000 reps to get real prizes such as visa gift cards "sorry legally no cash".

- Also all posts will have reps on them. This helps members see how useful a particular post is and gives members more feedback.

Converting TUBucks to REP

- Since we have over 1 million members we are going to do the conversion this way. You will need to REPLY TO THIS POST asking to be converted and we will do a 1/10 ration. So 1k TU bucks is 100 rep which gets you premium. When you are converted you will see your tu bucks go to zero and a new number for rep. All tu bucks will be rounded up to the nearest tenth.

Features In Development

- We are going to work on allow members to order topics by the amount of total rep of the FIRST post. This should help for the confirmed section keeping the best of the best at top.

- We are working on a nice store and will actually add merchandise but thats off a ways since this guy needs to be 100% tested before we move on.

- Rep can be wagered in bets. So you can risk your rep in online games.

What about members that had life long membersships like myself? It won't effect us I gather? SInce I was the perma lurker rather then a heavy poster...

Whoops. Nope it wont hurt you at all. You will actually get perks, ie since you have lifetime you can just use your reps to get prizes.

First off, convert please.

Second, this will push people to grant you rep, but once again, you could just be frozen, if no one reps you for a post?

Third, If you get +3 reps on a new submission, does that automatically cause it to get moved to a more private forum?

Fourth, can you add a message at the bottom automatically for new posts in submission forums that states something along the lines of "Please plus rep if this works - or if it doesn't work, please reply to this post and let us know"?

1. Its being done we are fixing a slight tweak for the correct points not showing up.
2. You could be frozen from zero reps but thats unlikely. We are also adding rep for posts you make, havent decided on a number.
3. We are going to look at rep numbers and change them based on the forums. The automatic part is being worked on actually .
4. Thinking of a way to do that. I guess a post after the first post on just submission forums stating "be sure to rep this post if you liked it as this member will get rewarded and be more likely to submit more things now." Suggestions are always welcomed.

Any update on the TU buck to rep conversion?

Yea was testing some features to make sure they where acting as they should. They do and im converting a bunch of people now . You are already converted.

Yea we are also finishing up some small visual edits to make it just flow easier with posting. Also the posting bug that happens sometimes is being addressed too. This will stop that lag sometimes when you first post.

Wasn't my 5000+ points supposed to be converted to 1/10th rep?
