Windower is it any good? : FFXI General Discussions

i am playing FF on pc and i have been wondering it thr windower is any good to use while playing FF.I want to go online some times while I am playing so I could check on mission/quest and on some other stuff.

Did anyone tried this software before?is it any good?

Depends on which windower you want to use.

1. Azaril's windower (ffxi.archbell.com) is functioning and has full controller support.

2. Xu windower is functioning but has a ton of controller issues.

You can try Xu and is your controller is causing you to get the BSoD (Black Screen of Death) then I would recommend using Azaril's.

Azaril's windower (3.2) works fine for me, it gives me windowed mode and full gamepad support (including force feedback).

XU windowed mode doesn't work for me. After changing focus to another application the gamepad stops responding, and I need to reload the game in order to make it work again.

If you only need windowed mode I suggest you to try Azaril's first.

If it works for you but you also want scripting support you have several different options, including XU.

I personally use both ACTools and XU to run scripts and Azaril's Windower to provide windowed mode.

Just a sidenote, download the Windower only from ffxi.archbell.com. Don't download it from anywhere else. And if you download any other windower use several different virus scanners on it first and also search the web for comments regarding that particular software.

The 3.992 seems to have fixed the crash issues a lot of people had. It works fine for me for example!!

I use Azrael's.... but I can 't get it to run XU with it. I set launch path to windower, but I dont get the yellow logo in the upper left hand corner a I usually do in full screen mode. Am I missing something?
