Diabolos Prime Info : FFXI General Discussions

I had a party with four 70+ summoners, 75nin/war and me as whm together last night to attempt to kill diabolos. There was a line of about 50 pts waiting to battle him. Its like the NPC dragon fight ... when someone is in the BC you cannot enter. People were getting rude and spam-clicking on it just to cut in line ... they argued like a bunch of babies. ... I got tired of listening to these little kids so we left. Needless to say, we did not wait this line out and we will do it another day.

Did anyone actually fight him yet? I don't want to hear the rumors that have been going around web sites like alla and KI. I don't know what CoP requirements you need because I got the key item but I have rank 8-9 fame in every city and have finished all CoP missions. I have heard rumors of it being different things but I don't want to read a bunch of "this is what my friend said".

If you have faught him, how is the fight? Is it a normal BC like the other avatars or do you fight him on the squares like the CoP mission? Ramuh is full of a bunch of little kids pretending they know what they are talking about because the read it on a website that was some other stupid persons post.

- i can truthfully say four things about getting the key item needed:
1. You must have CoP because two people in my LS without CoP could not get the quest with max fame in all cities. (guess this one is obvious since he is on the exp pack)
2. You DO NOT have to have beaten Fenrir (a rumor on Ramuh at least) because 1 of my summoners and the nin got the key item without ever getting fenrir or owning a moon bauble.
3. My nin friend got the key item with Rank 8 windy fame, rank 9 jeuno fame, he's on CoP 5-1 (rumored to be only 3-5 completion to get him) and he has never faught Fenrir and does not have a moon bauble.
4. You do not have to be a certain level to get the key item because ran a test and I got it as a lvl 1 sam/blm (switched my job in windy just to see if I could get it as lvl 1). Ramuh has a rumor, also on KI that says you need to be lvl 60 ... have also seen you must have smn30. But our nin have not even completed the job quest yet to get smn.



Anyone else have any information they found out? If you've faught him, how was it? I will post here when I finish him or at least attempt him ^^ but I'm waiting until all the "I got to have him now" band-wagon fools are not standing in line lol.

I fought him just after maintenance was over. I went with 4 SMNs, 1 RDM/DRK and one BLM/RDM. Honestly there are no specific tactic needed
other than stun his Nightmare attack and and {Full Attack!}. His HP is ridiculous.

Waaayyy easier than Fenrir.

4BLM, 2RDM/DRK, 30 second win.

2 blm 2 rdm mnk and rng. 3min 45 sec win ^^.

RDM 1> Chain stun
RDM 2> Chain Nuke
2BLM > Full attack!!! NUKE
MNK > Not very useful here....
RNG > barrage , sidewinder, EES... abt 1.5k damage there.

Approx hp for diabolos is 10k.

Btw, requirements that i know so far:

-Completed 3-5 in your COP missions.

-NO need evoker ring.
-No need any other summons.
-As for fame, i am not sure, because i maxed it already @@;;

Generally strategy is to kill it ASAP... It spams sleepga, so meeles are not as useful in the battle

-Having 6 75 BLM is almost a 100% win.
-Try not to use SMN.. Diabolos will sleep the pet, when he spams sleepga.
-Basically, use any job that can deal massive amount of damage in a short time.... which is blm and rdm ... lol..
