you should just buy RoTW its not that much dude. + the katarn armor is actually fairly good armor to grind in because its stats can be really good with the expertise bonuses

Stats on the clone armour are no where near crafted battle armour, but at least its free.

and finally now with pub 4.4 they have removed the useless armour stats on the clone armour belt hehe

I finally bouhgt RoTW and i dont regret it.Its way better being able to travel to kash and stuff
