How risky do you think it is to run a 3rd party macro program in SWG?

All it would be doing would be clicking for me. I'd record like a 30 second click session, and then loop it for ever.

How much of a chance do you think there would be of me getting banned? How does SOE(with swg) deal with 3rd party program users? Do they ban right away? give a warning?

I would be ATK the whole time

Instaban, especially if you are AFK and a CSR asks you waht youa re doing and you do not reply

if you use it ATK and have a way of stopping it quickly you should be ok ... but it is very risky using it afk ... mostl for what the other person said .. they can tell you are doing activities ... and if they send you a message and you do not reply you will get booted ..

likely banned if they catch you doing it more then once ... i was booted offline once while running one, but i did the dumb !@#$%^* thing of having my windows large enough to where i couldn't see the chat boxes.

Actually, I've found out that CSRs can only tell if you're speed hacking. Click-type macros are pretty much undetectable. Also, you don't HAVE to reply to CSRs. If you're in a cave hogging the spawn and noone else can get a shot in then they'll just drop a high level spawn to kill you.

I was also thinking they must be hard to detect...

Back before the Borgle Bat cave got nerfed, there where 2 or 3 people who would camp the Debris piles afk all the time. And the only way to loot those piles afk is to have a 3rd praty program clicking.

People posted about them on the forums all the time and they never got banned. They must have been doing it for months un-detected

because the 3rd party program does not actually integrate with the game .. it just 'clicks' the mouse and moves the mouse .. there is no difference from a person doing it ... that is why most all the time they will not ban you because they can not tell for sure you are using one ... but they WILL boot you off the game and force you to log back in ... i have had that happen before ... and going back and reading the chat log .. i was booted under the 'suspicion' of using a 3rd party program ...

Just wait until 10pm EST and then use it, because CSR's are forbidden to log onto there CSR Accounts Sat and Sun and after hours, so they won't detect it, and just do it in your house

I'd also like to know where you got that from...

It was told to me a by the head CSR of Chilastra, KeithR who told me that to do that basically gets you fired, afterhours or on weekends, and I have been doing that alot for FS XP to get Master Force Crafting and have yet to have problems, when people who do it during the day have been caught. There is no "source" except proven by not seeing CSR's on this and KeithR telling me.

Because I know that there was many instances where CSR_ChrisG I wanna say the last initial escapes me at the moment, constantly was on Kashyyyk when the trail exploit was going on. It doesn't seem logical that the CSR's are not on during peak play times.

I grinded doc pre-cu with third party programs such as Auto-it and never got busted or even warned..its all a matter of if a CSR sees you or not.

If it's juts clicking a box or something it can be completed 100% in game with macros... here's a few tips.

/macro name; <--- calls the macro name, put it at the end for infinite loops
/ui action toobarSlotXX <-- replace XX with 00-23, 00 being button 1, 01 being button 2, and so on (letter cases matter)
/delay X; <---- pauses actions for that many seconds.
/ui action cycleTargetOut; <----- targets next enemy (letter cases matter)

REALLY simple ranged macro I made for one of my alts was pretty much this:

Named 'ranged'

/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/delay 10;
/peace;
/delay 1;
/ui action cycleTargetOut;
/delay 1;
/macro ranged;

Put my ranged attack in slot 1 on my bars. 10 seconds - take the average time it takes you to kill + regen back to full health and multiply by 1.5 or so for worst case - misses and such (ie. if it takes you 10 seconds to kill + regen, make it a 15 second delay)

/peace should stop combat, at least it used to =D and then the cycleTargetOut; gets a new target. TIP: Go to options and change the view angle or whatever to MAX, it'll make everything look REALLY weird but you'll be able to see the most on your screen around you! (All curved and warped and !@#$%^*)

/macro ranged; calls the macro to start over again, infinite loop. Only really works at lower levels, /shrug
