Appearance Bug, Can anybody reproduce? : SWG Premium Discussions

We've all seen this bug, person looks like they are wearing something, but really are wearing something else. The other day I was wearing normal cloths, then put on an elder robe, don't know how it happend but I was wearing the robe, had the proc and stat buff, but to everyone else looked like I was wearing normal cloths.

Can anybody reproduce this on the spot? Or is this still a mystery?

Sounds like they may have appearance mods installed. I know alot of mods are out there changing elder robes, etc into other items/clothes. I even make a few, when I find the time lol.

Sorry, you didn't understand what I said. I said everybody saw me wearing regular cloths but I was really, I mean really wearing an elder robe, I don't do any client side mods.

Well, if they did they would have seen that. If they aren't, most likely just a random glitch and not something you can repeat on purpose.

What's funny is that my server's been in an uproar over what they thought was an exploiter caught red-handed - someone posted a screenshot of the guy wearing knight robes, but with the Gift of the Darkside buff showing active. What's funnier is the guy's been on the server since launch, has a credible rep, and is probably one of the last people who would have used an exploit, lol.

Interesting to know there's an appearance bug out there.

Well, the one that took the screenshot most likely just had a mod (client side) to convert the appearance of the Elder Robe into a Jedi Knight Robe.

This appearance mod would only change the image on the ones with it installed, not the actual in-game item appearance if you don't use it. This is how you can have a Gift of the Darkside buff (Elder Robe only) active while "appearing" to be in Knight Robes. Very, very simple to do and not technically an exploit, as it does nothing to alter game mechanics (not a server side modification). This means the guy in the screenshot isn't exploiting at all but the one that posted the screenshot is using an appearance mod.

Actually, there is an appearance bug. I know there are mods that people run too, but I know first hand that appearances can be bugged too. I have seen it several times while running two accounts on separate computers.

Don't know how to reproduce it though.

Drwho pleease stop spamming with client side mod stuff, WE KNOW WHAT A CLIENT SIDE MOD IS....This bug allows anybody and anyone to see you wearing something your not....
