Avoiding Deathblow?.. : SWG Premium Discussions

Today I was out pvping. Incapt some guy and went for the db. But no matter how many times I clicked on him he wouldn't db. Fine, so I double incapt him. After he rez'd, he came back and same thing happened - I couldn't db. I tried the radial menu, nothing, tried the command, still nothing.

Then later a friend of mine mentions there's a way to avoid db's. He didn't know the whole trick, but says it involves a bacta tank from the old Jedi village days, and spamming a command. He didn't know what the command was.

Has anyone experienced this with another player? I'd like to figure this out.

I've seen it once, got an "Invalid Target" when trying to db someone when I was stood right over them.

He might have meant the Bacta Tank publish reward which is designed to bring you back to full health when not in combat I doubt its anything to do with the village bacta tank.. Though the only exploit i know with that one was fixed long ago.

The only issue I have when trying to DB someone is lag, and they slide away from you or you get the invalid target as dazzac said.

Well there is only one explination i can figure out. If your guild is in Guild War with another guild and the person you were fighting was from that guild then u have to use the ~ key to bring up a radial menu and then click db.

I had a similar situation yesterday. I found my bounty target and incapped the afk moron, and he corpsed, but I kept getting the message "Apparently, (XXX) is not dead" even though he was actually labeled "corpse of (XXX)". I even went to the cloners to wait for him but he never autocloned. I eventually gave up and deleted the mission. I was the only player in the area, so I know no one else got the db. Also, both of us were combatant, but I still got 100 GCW out of the kill.

Was one of the weirdest hunts I've ever been on.

I used to just shrug this off as probably lag or something but I recently got a new rig and just about never have any lag issues anymore. There was a huge battle the other night on my server which lasted way over an hour. There was one individual who just couldn't be db'd when incapped. Wasn't happening with anyone else but this person. So I now think it has nothing to do with lag. Maybe it's a bug or maybe an exploit, who knows? All I do know is that no one could db this particular person. Very interesting.

I had someone else do this to me again last week, and the guys on Vent told me what people are doing is pulling the power plug on their modem just before being incapped. This way, the player will be incapped, but due to being "offline" they cannot be further attacked or deathblown.

Whether or not this is true, I don't know. I can't test it on myself since I run all my toons through the same cable modem, but perhaps someone could test this out with a friend.
