I see posts about these in trade forums. Was this a past exploit or bug, or can ppl still do this?

No this is something that the game was intended to do. It is very difficult however, it takes immense luck and continued attempts at making powerbits. So this is something the game was meant to do I recomend crossserver chat with the sellers that way they see you are not competition and might tell you what they did. Most I hear have suits of +35 luck.

I think some people are using loads of components to slowly up their 35s. They would be worth a fortune. Essentially you put your 35 attachment on your armour bracer/shirt, then RE it, and hope it went to 36, then put on another modifier and another bracer/shirt and hope it goes to 37. Apparently though can take 50-100 bracers/shirts to gain a point.

No, there has to be some other way. I have packs of the retrofitted looted armor and clothing left, which gives a huge increase as compared to using newly made armor/clothing, and even after using a whole pack of the old retrofitted loot and 500 bracers on a +35, the bit is still at +35. Note that I have +149 RE chance and well over 1000 luck (when doing it had over 1300 luck, most possible). If this was somehow possible, I'm not sure it is anymore, at least not the normal way.

Luck has nothing to do with RE. Its been confirmed by TH and the friday feature has been edited.

It is strange that these 40+ are only starting to show up now suddenly. Only time will tell.

I have +150 RE chance, and after RE'ing literally thousands of items, I still keep vacillating on the value or non-value of luck.

Initially, the Jan 19th Comlink on RE said that RE chance and "luck" were involved. Now, some people said this was just blind, dumb luck he referred to. Others felt it was the Luck attribute. Later, when pressed, TH listed only RE chance as being important (NOTE: he was still slightly evasive in my opinion).

I personally don't believe that luck makes any difference due to my experience, but refuse to rule it out just yet. What I WILL do is RE 400 shirts repeatedly on the same +35 power bit to see if it will go up. It's worth it if simple perseverance is all that's needed.

If I get a +36 power bit, I will probably make +4 RE shirt, chest and weapon to up me to +153, which is almost surely necessary.

Are you sure 36 / 10 = 4? I'm pretty sure its 3.6 and I don't think RE rounds upward

It doesnt round upward. You need 40 to make +4.

How did you get +150 on RE Chance?????? I think 149 is cap. Lets make an example:

You can get 110 RE Chance with your expertise, then you can use 3 RE Chance on a shirt, 3 on a chestplate and 3 RE Chance on a Weapon Attachement. Now you are on 119RE Chance. Then the Power Ups on all three items. This will be 10 RE on shirt, 10 RE on Chest and 10RE on Weapon. So now you are on 149 RE Chance. So how did you get 150??????

well its the type of power bit hes useing

someone on ahazi made a +66 power bit so thats alot more RE chance on an item

You can also get more than 10 on those RE pups if you are lucky.

Then the Power Ups on all three items. This will be 10 RE on shirt, 10 RE on Chest and 10RE on Weapon. So now you are on 149 RE Chance. So how did you get 150??????

One of my RE powerups is +11 RE chance, hence I'm over the 149 mark. It seems like a fluke, because I have RE'ed about 15 +35 power bits (after hitting +149) to make powerups, and only one has come out +11. I think it's about 1 in 10.
