in EVERY race/culture, there are always bad and mean people.

but we cannot generalize all the chinese players in L2 to be ksers and pkers and meanies.

the main reason those chinese players r playing is to farm adena and give to their boss, who sells the adena on ebay and earns real money. These chinese players r uslally between 18 - 20 years old, they've dropped out of school either because they dun study well, OR because the competition is TOO fierce in china (it's 20x harder to get into unervisity in china than it is to get into univeristy in north america, due to the overpopulation in china). it's almost like slavery, because this is the only way they can earn money (no, its even difficult for them to find a proper job such janitor or waiter, because there are just so many people to take those jobs)

i think they really deserve pity.







now it comes to whether they are mean or not. 10% of the chinese players i've met meets the usual descirption. cocky, mean, ks, etc.

however, the other 90% are all VERY nice. it's just that because they cannot communicate with english players, some misunderstanding can be sparked.

Now me being a chinese ( i live in canada though) knows a bit of chinese in ping ying (that's the way to communicate in chinese with the alphabet) and often when i talk to these players, they r very nice.
for example, today i was in cot ksing a chinese player (yes i was hehe...) and he hit me, so i hit back and he killed me with one mortal blow. but later when i talked to him about it, he said he was really sorry and even gave up his spawning spot for me.



now the point of this is for you guyz to understand that not ALL chinese players r 'bad'. infact MANY of them r nicer than english players. i think all the negative comments about them is all because of communication barriers.

i completely agree. i have met some of the chinese players as well and they are pretty much forced to farm adena or bad things could happen to them or there families. they are paid terribly for the amount of work they put into the farming, so i agree we need to cut them some slack, one of them actually helped me blow through soda for the quests so i gave him all the loot and got my quests done too. win win for both of us.

Some are nice and some are bad....either way I enjoy making fun of them. What kind of job is that anyway? Playing Lineage for money. They should be shut down. There are less than 90% nice chinese out there though. Does anyone speak spanish in L2?

That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard... lol. Actually not so weird I'm pretty much a slave to my boss too and I work on computers. So I guess we're not that different in the end.

Can't be any fun to play a game when its a job. :p

I work full time and try to come on and play this only to be surrounded by random saying "kids"...I don't appreciate it. I pay to play too...

I can care less what they go through...it's a video game.

They can go out and get a real job and stop being a hermit...

a video game will not benefit thier future.
iam sure they will get a REAL job if they CAN, people without background knowledge of china may find this hard to comprehend, but they CANNOT find a 'real' job. even if they wanted to wash dishes or become a garbage man, they can't. because there are just too many people, and even for the lowest jobs the competitive is extremely fierce.

Personally my take on this is that NO ONE should be using ANY game to make money such as these "adena" farmers are and 99% of the ones I have met have been rude, inconsiderate, and just plain nasty.
I'm saddened to see that NCSoft hasn't banned certain IP's.
The Koreans, Chinese and Japanese already have all their own servers.

I say force them back onto their own servers and let us have ours back.

This was supposed to be a NORTH AMERICAN release - and I know that basically means INTERNATIONAL to some people but since they have their servers already let them use those.

Well since they pay around $25 american to play on thier own servers. And can play on our servers for $15. Where would you play? Also where are most of the Ebay customers? Rich "American" kids! So farming adena on a Korean server nets you nothing compared to farming on the NA servers. As long as NCSoft allows either of these three items (cheaper, ebay, and asian IPs on NA servers) to exist there will be rude KSing farmers.

But to the point of the post... They are what you think!!! Unless you speak chinese, and then they will be nice to you. They are always nice to their own kind it seems. The only cool Chinese players I've met can speak English with no problem AND are not paid farmers.

I dare anyone to go into EF on any sever. Don't say anything to anyone, pick any room at random (deeper in and populated with a farmer preferred), and I guarentee you will be KSed and harrassed in 5-10 minutes. Usually by someone named coolguy002 or badboy2000, anything with numbers and you've seen the same name with different numbers recently.

Even if they were all decent people it simply comes down to the basic fact that when we signed up to play the North American releash of this game, we had an expectation. We expected there to be an overwhelming majority (99.9%) of other people on the North American continent playing this game, almost all speaking English.

We did not expect entire areas blocked off by chinese farmers who don't speak English at all and rudely when you don't try to speak their own language on /our/ bloody servers. If we had wanted that we would be playing a foreign release and have gotten a jump on the grind.

I'm sure the Chinese people are nice, but that doesn't mean I want them all jumping on rafts in droves and sneaking into my country and making /their/ saturated labor market problem /my/ problem. Nor do I want them flood our servers in a similar fashion. It's the same exact problem.

What we seem to have here is a Failure to communicate ... I do agree with some of the Topic Posts information but as for 90% of them being good Well I just have to say your percentages are off by a slight majority .... I would say 70% are the rude inconciderate players .... (this would also be on my particular server "gustin") and 30 were very nice ... again my percentages could be off as well but it does bother me seeing angel1 angel2 angel3 all delivering them selves during the day lol ... its fun to watch sometimes cause they drop decent gear lol but the thing comes down to companionship in the game raising chars to play I know we Exploit what we can out of the game from time to time but then again ... Hell ... were trying to have some fun now arnt we we do have some char that were trying to build up ... these others that I talk about bot to bot and no further purpose ... they try to just make the money to sell the money and thats all I do feel bad for them dont get me wrong and I do suggest that some others that are straight one minded thinking that they are all negitive to give some of them an open shot but as you yourself said you are able to speak some chinease and that does help out the communications barrier that posses a problem to the rest of us making them able to be your friend as for me I am currently trying to lear a few things and be able to say silly things like have a good day or maybe hello or goodbye but at least if their going to play on an american server have the "common decency" to do the same not trying to put any persons down as I said before ... many of the asian people i have met on the game have been really nice but on the other hand the majority that are rude and despisable far out way the ones that I like ... there for making it a bad name they bring upon themselves .... I just hope that in some time something can be done some where to the point that people wont hate everyone else on a game as much ... but you dont have to take my word for it

I think we all had that expectation Bandiger, problem is the only way to get NCSoft to do anything about it is a boycott. and currently things are not bad enough to get anyone behind this idea (Or good enough in any other game).

As soon as WoW or EQ go open Beta, or even release, things will be different. I know I will be jumping ship when either of those two go open beta!!!

For one stop complaining about them and deal with it. and 2 they arent playing the game for fun like most of us are, They are playing to eat, buy new clothes for there kids, and basically just to stay alive. Some of these farmers this is there only way of income. So i would like to see any one of you guys still say all these things about chinese and koreans once you lived just 2 days in there lives. Its really hard trying to support a family on only maybe $200's a month at most!!!

Pft, you obviously aren't very well informed. In case you haven't been paying attention, China is communist country. That means they /don't/ have to do this to support themselves. They're doing this as a way to get more than what they're allotted. A very commendable notion, but they're living in the wrong country for it.

PS, if I were you I wouldn't suggest people "deal with it", chances are you won't like people's methods.
