Which class is 'better' : Lineage 2 General Discussions

I'm coming up on my second class change with Shilen Knight or Blade Dancer as my two options. What's anyone's suggestion(s) regarding which to choose. I'm up in arms about it and figured why not start a thread for it.

from my experience on different severs i can tell u that any class is ok to chose if it fits your gaming style
i don't play heither a blade dancer nor a schilen knight (i simply don't like d. elves ) instead i have a dark avenger lev 59 as my latest char

he is a shield+sword character..gread p def and m def but low dmg.. a perfect Tank but a pour char for Solo play..therefor needing partyes to grow at higher levels.the S.knight is quite the same
... and there is the echonomic aspect...the fact that u will be spending less money on weapons..as a Bdancer.. In my opinion a Dual Samurai Long Sword is easier to make than a Damascus sword.... some may say i am wrong...but the 2 years of lineage i have been playing prove me right...

I cant tell you what to chose but i can tell you what i noe of both job's

Shillien Knight
This character is a "tank" character. Tanks are used mostly to go ahead and receive heavy damage while the rest of the group does the damage. They are known for their Cubics that assist them in battle. They can sustain lots of damage while the cubics help them in battle. They also have other usefull skills that make other players/monsters very weak.
In average i would rate them:
PvP: 8/10
PvE: 7/10

Bladedancer
This character is a good as a damage dealer and as a tank. Their main abilities are the Songs that are very useful when in a party. The songs they do can increase various stats making combat a lot easier. Although the songs dont last for long, their MP Regeneration is high and song MP cost quite low. Also, their Dual Weapon mostery makes them quite good in PvP.
In average i would rate them:
PvP: 7/10
PvE: 7/10

Shillien Knight is typical fighter char and is tanker which means he got lots of hp

BD on other hand is class i prefer over all classes ingame.He is good dd and he is suport char at same time. BD is very good char but only if you are ready to throw your MP away on dance's(buff's) to help party.
BD is equivalent in pvp to Gladiator(and if you dont belive i will post avi so you guys can see it ). Also BD when buffed have i tink highest critical chance in game And i heared that some BD ard 55 lvl do 800 dmg on crit with samurai's double swords and thats i tink much more then Phantom Ranger can even dream on that lvl
All in all BD is pretty good job to chose

Thanks to the both of you for your input. I think I have made my decision.

BD is a support/DD class with a nifty aoe atk at higher leveles called poison blade dance and their dances are craved by parties both melee and mage alike. theyre good if you want to be a close range dd.

SK is a tank with relativly low HP in comparison to other tanks(since DE have lowest con) but they have an amazing skill called lightening strike which when it lands means good game for whatever you cast it on pretty much. Very fun skill and they also have pretty good p.def.

Both classes are fun to play but u can prolly solo a lil better with a BD and/or find groups easier as a BD. so your choice.

If i was you i wouldnt choose any DE class ---

Pro: very good PvE classes all of them, sometimes pvp too ... SH is best DE class... good nukers, very good for pvp.

Con: None of DE class will live long when attacked in pvp, SK will live longer but that class is totaly lack of dmg output.

hmm well Id disagree with last post, SK's if played right can rock almost any class, Ive seen SK's take down glads/archers(PR/HE/SR)/BD's/etc.. Im not sure about every other class but they are the like magic using tank, they'r not specificaly meant so stand and fight, they kite and use magic if needed and lower def/hex/use cubics (which dont suck and land constantly)/ imo they are great pvp'rs and take skill to play, Id rate them as 8/10 and for pvp and 7/10 for pve

+with right gear (dama+w/Focus+Doom) can do good dmg alongside constant blocks with high shield block rates which is awesome.

---------------------------------------------------BD's (I play) if using good duals and proper gear can be fairly good with pvp only because of the criticals they land (i land 1/3 - 1/5) use FP (c-grade) and Raid*Spirit= +40Crit = 156 Crit, a dance is like 60mp but later on that wont really effect all too much, dancing every 2minutes doesnt really bother me but I do get into groups fairly easy (first dance you learn is +crit damage, in Pve at my lvl Id hit usualy for 150-200 with crit that can hit for an extra 300-400+ (im usualy buffed w/ 45+ SE)

+Great buffer in party later on (58 is when dance +atk speed)
+effective at pvp and pve (do good dmg)
+invited to groups/clans fairly easy even at lower lvl's

-Bad Tank (dont get anymore defence skill upgrades)
-Only effective w/ buffs, otherwise is just a weak tank w/ dance (sucks at low lvl's and gets better 55'sh)
-if not to bright you can burn through your MP soo fast you'l be useless for awile, patience and learning to figure when and how to use a dance is important (ie: dance of light) later on dances cost 100+

I have to say if ur playing on Private Servres then you maybe should not play BD as main class because they get realy easyily beaten on P. Servers

If you play a BD you'll be really welcomed into parties for leveling

Allso DE's have whole game highes STR so they do lots of Damage... yep STR is higher than Orc's or Dwarf's DE PS

make a SK

BD have good dances, good p atk, good m def, so u can beat SK

I personally dis-like BD for PvP. People say alot about the but they lack alot of skills other classes have. There dances don't run your mp down when there used after the dances have already left.

Hex and crap like that don't own up to an SKs mastery. STR don't matter when your up against someone with 2 and 1/2 times your hp .

And SKs lightning move lands, just not when your opponents equiped with boss jewls.

People brag about BDs for no reason other then they crit lol. THs crit every other time for alot more via masteries . BD maybe however, one of the best classes for PvE, there dances are priceless.

SK have alot of HP, unless 7.8k isnt that much, (unbuffed) to me, i'd be Sk becasue there better over-all, but BDs are so so so so so nimble and weak. Just takes three seconds for them to die, and they aren't even close to the power of gladiators.

I've watched a lvl BD (71) get rapped by a lvl 70 Glad, and the BD had +6 Kesh*Kesh, while the glad had +4 Kesh*Kesh. Same armor and everything, except the BD had SE buffs extra, they both had prophet buffs.

..now, am I right or am I right?

OMG...it's so useless asking "what it's better" and it's completely nonsense...every class has is meaning
the only thing one cna say is that in every cronicle there're class overpowered compared to others....but they wont be nothing without the help of other classes
For Example an SK 1 vs 1 can own a BD...but a party with a BD will blow out a party of the same composition with an SK.......

PR is the best, hands down =)
