Buying and Selling gold in MMORPGs : General Discussion

Alot of discussions has been brought up from time to time on virtual goods and the marketing of online "gold" from MMORPG's. We have toyed with the idea of a community market place for selling and buying of virtual goods.

We have been asked several times to have a TU virtual goods market built into the site for the community to use. The idea would be that people who have gold/items/characters/powerleveling services, etc, would be able to list them here on the site for our community.

But with so many gold sites, available, would there be a market for it?

Yeah I'd buy it but I wouldn't sell it really. As long as the people selling were reliable and there was some sort of security feature to stop scamming.

As long as there was a trusted handoff for the items, I would do it. I am not going to trust users from the forum to sell me gold, but if they gave it to TU and then TU gave it to me, then sure...

It depends. Would the gold be bought/sold with TUBucks or USD/Euro?

@lilfisher, of course, you realize that is money laundering and it is quite illegal. LOL.

Personally I'd like to see a TU virtual good market built into this site. It's success would be dependent upon the amount of subscribers on this website. Possibly adding this feature to your website might increase your subscribers. I'm definitely thumbs up.

I new to the site and posted a hello to everyone and asked if anyone had a suggestion on a great quest helper (yes I have questhelper) and have yet to get a reply. I will recommend friends to this site. I hope I get a response.

@zorgen, the hello forum is just that.. for saying hello. If you have any real questions about a specific game, find that game forum, and post it in there so others that watch that game will have a chance to see it and post.

The game administrators could set up a "Banker" like is used in Morrowind. The bank is "owned" by the game and like a real bank, investors would enjoy the profits depending on their commitment.

Yes, I sell swg credits all the time. Mainly to pay for the game itself ;) As long as I make more than $15 each month to pay for the account im happy. Extra earnings go into my gf fund :/
