newb island: trick for master chests : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

trying to work up some points to get my axx to prem. back.

ok, so your on the newb island, you have no cash, !@#$%^&* gear, and no idea how to make some fast cash... well this is what i do with all my new characters, it works great.

you know that cave on the newb island? the instance? well you can easily solo that cave and the named ALWAYS drops a chest, 1/2 the time it is a no drop item... and half of the no-drop items are legendary... good for some newb gear. BUT there is a chance for rares and master chests, there is no lockout timer on this instanced cave, and you can enter, kill everything, grab chest, exit, enter, kill everything, grab chest, exit, rinse and repeat.

Ive gotten TONS of lvl 1-9 masters, and alot of legendary gear, i went off the newb island, threw my !@#$%^&* on the broker and made somewhere arround 80 gold selling master 1's and adepts. And sold tons of addepts, all of them for over 1g each..... dont think that newbs will pay that price for adepts, etc? your absolutely right! newbs dont buy !@#$%^&* for lvl 1-9, the ones that do are the ones with higher main char's and cash in their pocket... that is why master 1 items sell for 10+g, and adepts are 1g+

Yeah, I did this too, made a good bit of gold doing it. Also, for the Chamber of Varsoon access or whatever, at level 45 I was able to solo the three guys you need to kill to complete the quest. This also generated a lot of profit, since almost every time they drop a Master Chest with Master 1s in them.

Dont think this information is relevant any longer. Have cleared that cave about 150 times thus far and while you do get the Exquisit chests, all that drops in there are Adept I's and Lore gear..bah...

Get a clue man lol. People do not buy that stuff for the lowbe toons its a waist. Transmuters but it to level in skills from 1-100 then they just want the powders and stuff from it. You can make just as much coin with a high level AOE class like a conj. Metor down to level 9 and head for Oakmist forest gather some mobs and AOE them. Take the Treasured Atune gear and pop it on the market for 1-5gold and watch it sell. No masters but when I was doing this I was making 2-5pp a day.

Can premium members say yay or nay to this being moved to a confirmed section.

the main guy that drops stuff seems to be the bear. mostly i get one of 3 different non-trade lore stuff - you can only have 1 of each at a time. the rest has been adept I spells. it's not bad since you can put them in your shared bank slots and have your alt put 'em on the broker. it's an easy handfull of gold every day.

edit- at level 9 i just go straight for the bear, loot the chest and exit. don't eve worry about killing the rest of the group, they don't seem to hit hard enough to do much of any damage.

edit- at level 9 i just go straight for the bear, loot the chest and exit. don't eve worry about killing the rest of the group, they don't seem to hit hard enough to do much of any damage.

Bear? What bear?

if you've been in the instance it's the only bear in the cave. a bear, a wolf, a hawk and 3 guys in green robes. the bear is the one seems to drop everytime for me. the others have had nothing.

darn, sorry... i forgot that you can start on different points now. i played when everyone started on the same island and now all my chars are evil.

so yeah, it's on the evil island.
