EQ2Unleashed EQ2 Radar : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

After running the mapper, it shows a mini map with a grid, then about 5 seconds later it crashes to desktop.

Running non windowed EQ2,
All updated DX and windows files,
Updated all XU files and plugins,
running AMD3400, 2gig Corsair with Gforce 5500fx
Screen res is 1280 x 1024 on a Viewsonic 21inch panel

I uploaded the radar and the subsequent patch, works like a charm. Not only can I set it to hunt down the elusive resources in Nek, but I can also set it to see through the pyramid in CT to find named mobs. Seeing red mobs was once the pervue of rangers, now a priest can see them too!

I dropped the resultion to 1024 x 768 cause I saw the error of something about screen format in the log. Still shows map for bout 5 seconds then crashes to desktop.

Why can't people turn off the damn packet sniffer like it says in the instructions... or in the HUNDREDS of other posts that says the same thing?

In my experience those warnings can be ignored. They usually come from the EULA, Sign-In. and splash screens.

I can't really offe much help other than the general tips...
1) Make sure you turn off anti-virus/spyware. (not just disable it, turn off the service completely... McAffee is especially bad about this)
2) Make sure TCP/IP sniffer is uncheked.
3) uncheck all the other extra uneeded stuff (macros/scripting/triggers) if you aren't using them
4) if not loading the eq2 crafter, you need to check the "run in compatability mode" (not 100% sure on that, I belive wyv had said that)
5) make sure to run EQ2 in windowed mode (alt-enter)

Hmm well I get the same thing that sargothian has now. It ran fine once, now it crashes 5 secs after bringing up the radar.

The radar always used to crash on amd whenever you brought it up. At least now at the player select screen I can bring it up and play with any of the options, even though it says zoning detected cause i'm not in a zone yet. as soon as I click play, it crashes a few seconds later.

Did everything as suggested. Even redownloaded Directx 9 and installed it, tried several different screen res and I still crash in EQ2.

When in windowed mode, after I crash, the popup window is from EQ2 saying that everquestgame.exe has caused errors and will nwo close.

Hopefully everyone will be getting home soon and perhaps this is just an issue of my not reading something.

sargothian are you using AMD based system? It happens on my AMD system too, however not other systems with Intel CPU, which works very well.

Yes it is AMD based, and was reading what wyv posted about how AMD sees the commands and treats them as real but Intel just marks em as null or something. Also seen how he had found the fix and uploaded it, perhaps my case is part that and part something else, I dunno.

Guess I can tackle the tradeskill macro until a fix or reply is found for here.

Progress atleast. Atleast the AMD system doesnt crash on zone info anymore.

I'll keep digging and see why it is crashing when ya open up the map.

Probably another memory variable I fogot to initialize or something.

After playing with the mapper, I have only one issue.

Zoning and tracking/mapping in different zones, the mob variables do not clear.

After crawling through CT for two hours, my group decided to take on Permafrost. Arriving in Everfrost, I pop the radar and find the map covered in CT-Lizard names, I figured it was because I closed the window while zoning. Zoned into Permafrost with the radar open, now I have names from Everfrost and CT on the map. I had the radar running for nearly three hours in PF, no reset and the names never cleared.

Work-around is pretty simple, reboot if you want to track multipul zones.

I am still looking for the "used" flag in memory to only display the current mobs. Basically sometimes when you zone it keeps in memory those other mobs, but reads a flag or something that prevents them from being displayed in the new zone.

Im a new member here on the site and i just downloaded XU-client, but when i start the radar the game crashes.

I have a AMD64 3200+ cpu on a MSI Motherboard and running WinXP Pro with SP2
