better spots for excellent hides:

anywhere in forochel particulalily the two cat dens

the ravine of cave claws in angmar by the seven swords guy

the wargs and cave crawlers on plateau by mustering horn in angmar by BG

bad thing about his spot is there are always people running through there doing exploration deeds and three or so quests right there plus those doing the warg deed and finding caldwell pond full up go there too as it is so well known

nothing really to confirm there already is a slayer guide: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Slayer_Deed_Hunting_Locations which has the "best" spots for finding mobs then for hides you find the right level for which hide you need

which is _roughly_

1-13/14 light
13/14-23/34 medium
23/24 - 33/34 sturdy
33/34 -43/44 pristine
43/44 -53/54 exceptional
53/54 and above extraordinary and magnificent

since there are so many spots that drop these hides a player should find a virtue they need that comes from a hide dropping mob and combine hide farming and getting virtue in one..........

i know there are meny great spots for farming exceptional hides but this spot is the best spot, not much better, but better... but again i think hardsell is right - you need to farm hides together with a deed :)

but the exceptional hides drops from beast lvl 45 to lvl 50 and that is the best spot i found so far...

you should try the cave claws more mobs in less space no invis mobs

cave claws do annoyingly burrow during a fight but dont stun or web easy kills they dont do much damage really
