I am not doubting you; I am just at a loss for what could cause it. It's working just fine for some people and not for others, even on winxp, so it's obviously some setting/file/library/installation/etc. causing it to fail.

Attached is a program that will pop up a window that contains some character stats while in vanguard. Put the exe int he same directory as the ACB2.0 exe and try running it, see if the same problem occurs.

I am having the same problem as well. I tried this file and still no-go.

That file I attached is a sample project written by wyvernx. All I did is build the exe, zip and post.

Because of this, it doesn't appear to be an issue caused (or correctable) on my end, unless for some weird reason a vs2008-built application is the problem.

I'll ask wyv to look into this. Maybe he can post his build of the sample and offer a little more insight.

Does the old vgextreme work for you?

Well I tried to run the old and get a security warning from my firewall saying that something called 'info-grabber' (unsure exactly) is trying to launch and it gets stopped.

disable your firewall (or have it allow the connection) and try again.

there is nothing malicious in the service.

I turned everything off and still no go on 1.1. I get a windows error.
V.2 is the same as it was.

Is the a VS 2008 patch I can run? I am attempting to install VS 2008 express on my pc.

Also what's interesting is that on this pc I cannot get to these forums. I can only get as far as:

My point is that if 1.1 isn't working, it's not likely 2.0 will. They both use the vgextreme service, just access it in different ways. Granted, the new project has about 3x as much code, windows forms and is compiled, but all the extra stuff is handled by microsoft's runtime environment (.NET 2.0, same as in v1.1). Installing vs2008 should not make any difference since the bot is already compiled.

Go through all the setup procedures for exhume and vgextreme to get that one working (keep all those files in a different directory), then try 2.0. The same installation requirements exist for the new service. The biggest difference on the user end is the API.

A new problem has just appeared today, at least for me. The program has been working well for the entire time I've had it, but for whatever reason now, it will only complete one item and then hits a snag. The "set auto table" mouse click hits that button when its already checked, thus it "unckecks" it, which then does not equip the table properly, ergo no more crafting. This only occurs after the first item made, I guess because on the first item made, the box isnt checked intially, so it properly mouse clicks that choice. This only started happening today fyi. It worked perfectly up to this point.

Im not sure if this is related, but I also noticed that today, the crafting level that appears on the main menu is no longer working. ( ie it shows up as a zero, instead of my level). The other info like my name and crafting class is working however.

Thanks for any help.

Today's patch broke some of the offsets.

I'll post an update in a few minutes

I installed new patch, but a new problem has occured. After completing one real item, the Bot crashes with no error in the log. This occurs just after item completion, but before it auto loots.

thanks

Still no-go. I installed the program on 5 machines. Only one has VG as I really don't have time to load vg on 5 systems. Does VG Extreme 1.1 & 2 need VG just to authenticate or start the authentication process? my guess is no, there should be no need.

Here are my errors:
1 - No response when I click authenticate. just repops the window.
2 - Virus alert. i added t to exceptions on AV and Win FW.
3 - Or i get a windows error:
VGExtreme has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

At this point I'm at a loss. Is it that my pc is locked down with all patches and anti-spam/phishing etc. Remember I cannot even get to the forums from my PC or any pc on my lan. I have to go outside my lan to post on forums.

I tried 1.1 and 2. - 1.1 gives me the windows error and 2 gives me the repop.

Any help figuring this out would be great. Are there any diagnostics I could run to get a better understanding on this?

Thanks,
Cepolly

I also did a reinstall on .net 2.0 to see if that would help.

bah, somehow I got an "End" statement thrown in for no reason. Corrected, uploading a new file shortly.

VGExtreme does need Vanguard not only installed, but logged in to at least character select to work. This check is done by VGE itself and is required so it can initialize offset addresses properly. Normally, though, launching VGExtreme itself (not the bot, just the service), version 1.0 on the forums or version 2.0 included with my bot package, without VG running should give a message box that says "Vanguard was not found. Please restart when it is running."

I'm pretty sure the check for Vanguard is one of the first activities VGE does during initialization (before any attempt to contact the authentication server), so if it's not even getting to that point, there may be something missing, like the MS Script Debugger. Try running Exhume.exe and see if it loads. If it doesn't, find the troubleshooting threads for Exhume elsewhere in the TU forums and follow the instructions. It is also possible your network configuration may prevent proper authentication.

If Exhume loads and authenticates fine (we're talking only about 1.0 here), then close it and delete all files in your exhume directory except exhume.exe and updatevgextreme.exe (you can keep the vbs files or other files that are obviously not part of the program...any .dll, .tgb and vgextreme.exe get deleted). Run updatevgextreme.exe and allow it to patch all files.

Now try running vgextreme.exe (make sure Vanguard is running). If it opens and authenticates fine, run the default script that loads. It should create a window with some character stats and nearby object data that changes as you turn or move. If this works, then the service is working fine. From here, ACB1.1 could be loaded and run, although the offset files are out of date.

Assuming you got to this point, extract the acb2.0 bot package in a directory OTHER THAN YOUR VGEXTREME 1.0 DIRECTORY. Also download the new exe update I posted today and extract it into the same directory, overwriting the old file. Start Vanguard then run AdvancedCraftingBot.exe If you reached this point successfully, it should work.

I have a suspicion the authentication is getting blocked. Are you trying to do this from a work LAN?

Ok, the good news is the crash problem is fixed. The bad news is that the problem with the bot mouseclicking "auto table set up" for every item made is forcing the bot to stop running, due to the table not having the proper items needed. This was not happening prior to yesterday fyi.

Any help is greatly appreciated as usual.

odd, because this is related to a specific offset I fixed and is running fine on my end. are you doing real items or work orders?
