Playing a hybrid : 9Dragons Discussions

Hello people :D

Im making this guide to help you with leveling your hybrid.

What is a hybrid?
A hybrid is like a an all around character. If you are lazy and don't like level buffs or heals do not play this class. They are able to tank like a warrior because they do not have the con penalty of healers, and the heals of both of them are basically the same.

Hybrid build:
When you change your role at Opening Chi 1 (level 25) go with the general build of:
Con:30
Ess:10
Wis:8
Dex: Minimum needed for weapon
Str: Everything else

Use your buffs to cover everything else. And every level do a 3-1 str-dex build. After chi breathing do a 6-2 str-dex build. Once you max your buffs, but before Five Dragons 1, go back to your clan HQ and restat. Placing only 15 into con and putting it into your str. Once Str is maxed out(250) start building onto dex.

Skills of the Hybrid:
When picking your skills pick them wisely. I recommend on getting the 2nd last and last active, the para nuke at RC 7, and the last smash. As for buffs get all of them. For heals get the first heal (slow heal) & the OC10 insta cast heal, no more.

Buff training:
It is easy to train your all buff over night. Just use the trainer in another section of the forums. But the self buff (con+,dam.+,def.+) is hard. You have to buy the supplement that is accosiated with your clan in order to use it.

Does clan matter?
Not really but I prefer using the Brotherhood of Theives because they use the strongest weapon in the game, axes, plus their clan relic and clan protection both enchance your defense.

Playing a hybrid:
When grinding try to kill mobs in the green-yellow range. Do not med if your health is low just press the "u" on your keyboard and use the quick slot key for your heal. So basically you can kill until you run out of the VE, then med, which makes hybrid last longer in pve situations. In PvP, if you trained your para nuke, you will be god like, you can basically freeze your opponent then keep whacking them and see them bleed to death. (Recommendation of Pvp after level 50)

Hope this helps.

P.S.: Look for Hyakurai on Asura I'll be glad to help you out.

This is a slightly modified version from the official Acclaim forums. It also doesn't tell the reader that this is for a PvE hybrid.

For grinding it says green-yellow mobs which is actually better for a PvE build warrior. Since a hybrid can heal and has a nice self buff it better for yellow-orange mobs.

For heals it says get the first slow heal and the instant cast heal only. This is a poor decision. You should at the minimum get the 3 second cool down heal and the instant cast heal. I recommended you get all 3 heals including the slow cool down heal because if you're ever stuck in a bad situation and your 3 second heal is still cooling down you can use this one as a backup.

I'd say this is a rather poor guide. Bits of misinformation. Has no guide on equipment and does not evaluate the pros and cons of a full str PvE build.

as a hybrid, i say its a middle- good guide. not know if it was taken form the 9dragons forums, but it has some valuable information. lack of weapons and other important stuff, like relics, elix and other. in pk, nuker is the best. hybrid has a negative point, that u might consider, wis is poor. so u could try to freeze your enemy, but if your opponent is a nuker, believe u going down. i m only a rc3 and i pk a ec hybrid, even with their buffs and attacks and healers, they don't match for nuker in pvp. for finishing game they are the best. for me this guide has a yay, but u could digger some more information.
also i know this because my strongest char is a deva monk (shaolin hybrid).
