Fall through textures: safe and fast traveling, macroing ++ : DFO - Cheats / Exploits

Hey,

This is an exploit I've found and want to share with you guys.

You have to look for a map seam (use your minimap) in the water that is pretty close to land. Hover in the water by the seam, dive down and swim underneath the land texture. Swim a short distance to make sure the water surface is beneath the land texure, then ascend. Now find a hole in the surface texture and fall through it. Proceed to go wherever you want!

The tested location is in the elven lands 15'7W 21'32S, but I think this works in all similiar places

This exploit is somewhat similiar to the "easy traveling" exploit, but is easier to use and gives the added effect of falling through textures and not just the water (this could give some added possibilities of traveling/exploiting, I haven't tested it thoroughly yet). Being underneath textuers also makes it easier to travel without getting too close to the surface (which makes you swim again).

NB! The fast parts are not a speedhack, I just sped up the vid

Edit: Changed host since filefront is going down

It's similar but not the same, as the other one is negated if you go too close to the water surface and you end up swimming. With this one it looks like it doesn't matter. I'll test it myself ingame when I get home from work before I say yay or nay.

Well, this one too is negated if you go too close to the surface. But since you can go underneath a lot of textures, you're usually able to avoid the problem :)

Tried this yesterday, and it's very interesting to say the least. I wonder if, combined with the DFOmate flight hack, you'd be able to fly underneath the textures anywhere in the world?

Yep, like I said, I haven't tested the options yet, but I can imagine there are a lot of possibilities.

Btw, if you have tested it and liked it, could you please /yay? That seems to be what the mods are looking for

/yay.

It's restricted to the oceans and you can't travel completely freely, but very good nonetheless!
