Paid Transfers. : World of Warcraft General Discussions

It is said that in the upcoming patches Blizzard wil implement the Paid Transfer System (not in the next patch).

Don´t you think that this issue could disturb the game economy on the servers?

An example: i take a lvl 60 char from my high population server to another one with low population. As espected, i can take with my all my items. Before leaving, i go to the AH and buy all kind of items that are low price here but will be ubber paid on the other one (like low lvl epics, "Hammer of the northern wind" and like this).

What do you think that are the chances of doing something like this?

It is supossed that the fee to transfer a char will be lower that the normal monthly suscription... does this open a way of selling gold on low servers in exchange of selling items?

What do you think that will be the restrictions that Blizzard will set to the transfers?

lol, what if someone who was Rank 14 and all end-gamed out transferred his character to a new server, he would own everyone. In fact, if he could get a couple of his 1337 friends to transfer too, they could raid cities on new servers, are the lvl 12s going to stop them? lol

Blizzard must have taken all this into consideration

erm ok so you take a bank full of items and you sell them....gg? nothing really important

Also nobody in his mind would move to a new server just to raid the cities full of lvl10s???


really dont see any problems with it and im glad they're doing it so people like me that are stuck in a !@#$%^&* empty realm can leave it finally

Of course that no lvl 12 will stop them, Guards are suposed to do so. And we are not talking about a rank 14 player, only about lvl 60 with nice end game gear (tier 0, 1) that has a nice amount of gold to spend on items.

These items are low price on high population servers, but expensive on the new ones. This could be a nice chance to get a lot of gold (to ebay it principally).

Imagine the Chinese farming hordes earning items to prepair the server change. That becomes a lot of gold to ebay it.

I don´t imagine a rank 14 changing to an empty battleground to win no honor killing low 60s

Make it so they cant move all of the items in their bags, and their banks... only gold and what they are using? -- Blizzard will have to think very hard about this..

No one will ever think in loosing the items to swap servers, or even get your gold reduced. There are players that only play to get purple items mate

But i´m with you, this will be a hard issue for blizzard.

blizzard could make it so that only high servers can move to low servers, that way most high levs wont want to transfer and mess up the balance, probably blizzard is only doing this so friends can play together and make people pay to transfer so it doesnt get out of hand

Not only that I send them an email asking them about account transfer about 2 weeks ago and they said they are thinking of doing that too. Basically transfering character to another account. But i think they gonnna charge you big on that.

Guess what?! You'll probably only be taking BOE/BOA items! And they'd have to be bound! That or statless (no greens, but it'd allow shirts..) Now the trade goods... that's a good question.... as is the gold... but who knows for sure? Oh, and new servers will most likely be locked to transfers... lol

I don't think they will let you just got to any server, they would have to be equal in "Age" For example, I could probably transfer my priest to my rogue's server, since my rogues server was made first, but the reverce would take longer, till my priests server caught up

Ill be taking my 60 Rogue to a low pop PvP realm.

I would say they would charge $40 per transfer which make me sad cuase ill pay for my firends to trransfer.

personally i don't think this is a good idea, i mean to gain money it may be but it should only be for a limited time, this means the servers population is going to explode
