WoW Programing Code : World of Warcraft General Discussions

Hello,
First thanks for your time.
I'm interested in giving code/programing a try. If nothing else atleast read about it so i'm not totaly lost. And although with my reading on WoW issues over the last 2 yrs. I'm sure I have run across something telling me what code WoW uses. But, I can't remember. So plz what code is it writen in and do I have to use the same code to program Macros, GUI Programs, ect ect.?

the Code is LUA 5.0

TBC will be upgrading their code to LUA 5.1 thus rendering all current addons, hacks, and bots useless untill the little code monkeys can figure it out.
