Changing mpq files : World of Warcraft General Discussions

I dropped engineering for herbalism today so I have two gathering professions to make a little extra money. You can not have both mini map spotters on at the same time, so you have to be looking for either herbs or ore, not both.

I need to know how to change the mpq file(s) to make herbs / ore into a larger object so it's pretty easy to spot them without the mini map help.

A search was done, but a lot of the stuff looks a little out dated, so any tips would help.

oh, and can it be detected in any way by Blizzard?
