WOW - Headless Horseman Loot : World of Warcraft General Discussions

If you've had a chance to visit the Headless Horseman, then you've had the chance to acquire some easy epic items. One forum poster was worried that the epic items had a secret catch, perhaps a hidden duration timer like the mislabeled brooms. Drysc replied with the following:

Heh, no, they're permanent.

The event designers wanted to incorporate some item rewards, some decent epic items for completing the end-quest for a holiday event. Something that is likely to continue into other events.

It's certainly easy, puggable, and it gives some decent items. It's a fun event, and the fight to the portal in/around SM is a hoot. Enjoy!

However this does not explain why the brooms were made temporary. Bornakk made the following remark on the subject:

Putting the duration on these items makes it so we don't have to worry about keeping them as a special rare mount. Instead it allows us to make them drop on a regular basis so almost everybody can experience this part of the event and enjoy it while it lasts.
