I was checking the official forum and apparently there is a bug involving the fence. A guy bought a shield for 2p50g or something and ended up paying 1g for it. It doesn't seem like the seller is losing money either course I didn't see any complaints about this.

Is this one of the things you aren't supposed to share with others or are the ones posting about this in the official forum just ... wrong ?

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday.

1) Purchased an item off Fence for 30 gold.
2) Only 1 Gold Deducted
3) Next purchase from fence was for 2 Gold
4) 30 Gold was dedcuted.

Shrug, balanced out in my case. At first I thought I hit pay dirt though.

I'm still experiencing bugs with the broker as well. Noticed 3 different instances in which this has happened.

1) Bought ashen roots, buying cheapest first and seller had 3 left on broker. Bought all 3 but when I clicked again it still made the "Ching" sound like I had purchased more than 3, although no money was gone. When I zoned, I heard the money sound again and had more than 3 ashen roots. Was not able to recreate this.

2) Once again, bought from broker. Zoned, heard "ching" and had less money as if I had bought more. But nothing extra in inventory.

3)Bought a spell, flipped to first page of list and bought it for a higher price. Bother did not show up in my inventory, although when I zoned they did. Weird.

I'm not looking for a dupe because obviously SOE is keen to then now and sending folks straight to the slam for doing it. Just want to make sure I don't screwed buying/sale big ticket items.

im not sure but I bought a ton of raw food materials off the fence, about 10g worth. and then when I zoned I heard this CHING sound of money.
I got all 10g back!.....then the servers went down with no notice.
so im sure they fixed it already.

I researched this so more and here is what I've gotten.

Toon 1 is a merchant, list items so they sale for 5g even. Listing them while online and not using the vault

Toon 2 buys item from toon 1, the item will appear in toon 2 inventory. The item will leave toon 1 inventory and he will receive correct amount of gold.

Toon 2 inventory will still SHOW 5 gold, but upon trying to buy anything else you will get message "not enough coin". Also if you attempt to trade or bank the gold then it will deduct properly. This also happens if you zone or log out/in.

Seems to be a visual issue to me. Inv is showing money that isn't really there anymore. I havent had an experience where I've bought something and gotten the money + the item after zoning. I have however LOST more money then I should have after zoning.

As mentioned, I would be very very cautious about even appearing to be exploiting anything involving consignment atm. For some bizzare reason they are having one hell of a time getting things right, but they seem determined to ban people every time they find out they !@#$%^&* things up yet again...

That was EQ1- if a GM needed to talk to you, and you were being difficult, they would port you to a room in freeport sewers with no exits. I've heard stories about situations where people had gotten themselves into enough trouble to piss off a GM, but not enough to warant a suspension, so they would leave the toon in the room for a couple days as punishment...kinda funny, really.

AFIK theres nothing like that in eq2, although I could be entirely wrong. It wouldn't even require a special zone- look at the way the last adv. pack is packaged- theres techicaly only 2 zones in that entire pack- they just use 'wall' objects to chop it up in different ways. I've hacked those walls out of the zone, but its not as interesting as youd think, mostly because its very very easy to get lost in there
