luck items? : FFXI General Discussions

Yo can someone explain to me what it is you need to do to activate lucky items. 4 leaf, lucky egg. I heard it was something to do with a "Luck rune"? in throngi canyon.

Those items provide no Luck or anything really they are all quest items. As for luck Runes ... see below

You essentially start the quest at the fortune teller in mhaura
Then find your Luck Rune on the right elemental day and get some crystals.


-> Qufim Island, on the way out to behemoth's dominion.

-> Lufaise Meadows, shortly after you zone from the swirling vortex (from valkurm), head towards the safehold, it is in the first "canyon" area you pass through.

-> Xarcabard, Head up to J-7, there is a tunnel heading east at the southern end of the square. Follow it around to the end, you will end up in J-8, there is a rune at the end.

-> Tahrongi Canyon, Around H-10, in the center of the complex region at the bottom of the map.

-> Yuhtunga Jungle, drop down the hole on the way to yhoator from kazham.

-> Pashhow Marshlands, K-7. Head up behind the outpost, it is in the first "large" area back there.

-> Beaucedine Glacier, H-7 on the ledge above the tower that is in I-7.

-> Batallia Downs,The entrance is at the top center of F-7, goes NE into the bunker.

then second part:


For the next part, form a party of two people and have each person get their fortune from Emila (if they haven't already). Since the title you receive is the one of the person you're most compatible with, have your partner change his title to that one. Once both people have their partner's compatible title, talk to one of the NPCs in the various nations to receive two food items.

Port San d'Oria -- G-7 -- Perdiouvilet
Port Bastok -- J-7 -- Brita
Windurst Waters (north) -- E-10 -- Dabido-Sorobido

Checking the Luck Rune and talking to the NPCs... do these two things (the order doesn't matter) and you can receive another fortune. You can do this once per Vana'Diel day.

The food you can receive is listed below. The rewards have four levels, depending on your compatibility with your partner.

Sub-zero Gelato, Vermillion Jelly, Rolanberry Pie +1

II. ???
Optical Soup, Boiled Cockatrice, Shallops Tropicale, Sophic Stew, Marbled Steak

Nowhere does it say it but i always wondered if a lucky egg maybe had a TH effect if you use it. The stats on it are crap and it only lasts 5min. its rare/ex maybe try using it right before you kill a NM and see what happens but just a thought. The only other thing its used for is that quest to get the opo crown but those stats suck also.

I ate it before I killed argus once, nothing no drops at all not even mecury or an eye.

It's still only a percentage, from what I know it isn't 100% luck. So you still have a chance of receiving absolutely nothing.

Seems like everything is just random first time i played on a friends name killed lord of onzozo and got the kraken club with a pld whm blm nin and then with th4 people still go 0/20. I think TH is only good for normal mobs when you farm stacks i have noticed when farming tree cuttings th helped but even with all the TH you can let a thf get the kill and same results usualy.

if the last event thing in cali the devs made it official info. doing the most damage or landing the final hit DOES NOT effect TH at all, just being in the party gives the same TH effect

So its kool to have a thief with TH+4 sit in his mog house why you kill Serket and you can get the same drop rate. Maybe effective for people who dont like to camp just invite them and have them go journey wherever they want.. or even if there afk sleeping just leave them in your party

i dont belive if it works across zones but they said it worked if they where in your party. having them afk in the same zone your killing the nm will definatly work
