I would say that you can grind in Arathi Highlands, only one quest that you could manage though. Stranglethorn Vale is nice, lots of quests and exp, plus the skinning! If not then there's Desolace, is Horde camp here but shouldn't be too much.

STV has a TON of quests there, if you don't lose your mind you may get out of there around 45-50

its real easy to get quest-locked in STV

I myself have a mage around that level. STV is good for quests, but what will end up happening is u will be completing quests faster than u are leveling. I think all of my quests in STV are red right now. If u want to grind, however, STV is great. Arathi is a good place to go as well and you can hit up Gnomergan a couple more times until like 35-36 when u can start SM. The only other place i can think of right now is Southshore, possibly? but either ETV or arathi would be ur best bet...sometimes u just have to grind, no way around it.

go to thousand neetles under the burning flats its a long walk and u will get ganked a couple times but those turtles are too easy and the respawn quick around the ship......

You have a couple of options here:

First, like the previous poster said, 1K needles is a good choice. Take a walk on over to the salt flats, and if you havent already done them, do all the "kill x mob" quests.

You can also go over to hillsbrad and the alterac mountains and farm the yetis there. I did that for several levels till about 35. They give a little under 2s, and have a fairly decent drop rate for dropping greens. Plus, if you have skinning you can get a lot of heavy leather.

When you get around 35/36, the Venture Co. Meterologists in Stranglethorn, on the east coast of lake Nefertiti, are GREAT grinding mobs. They go down incredibly fast, and drop decent cash, as well as greens. And they are well packed together, but not so tight that you are constantly getting adds. It's one of my favorite grinding places currently. If u mix up that grinding with the quests you get, you should be able to hit 40 just fine.

hold on a sec...guys you forgot to ask him if he plays on a PvP server? If so then STV can be a REAL pain in the !@#$%^&* for questing and grinding. If you play on PvP I would quest with others in STV, or stay in the northern area. Try to go to out of the way areas. I snuck onboard one of those pirate ships to the far south and went below and grinded there for a long time before I got ganked by some rogue.

If your on PvP a great place thats out the way is Desolace. You have quests all over the zone, its a big zone too and not heavily populated. I spent most of my 30s as a warlock in this zone. The southern part has a lot of horde though as their town is in that area, but its a good place to level.

Also if you get some underwater potions...A great way to level in peace is underwater all over the desolace coast. The nagas are easy to kill and have some nice drops.

As to Arathi-well thats like STV in many ways. Sometimes its gank city, sometimes your ok.

Another good place is thousand needles, the shimmering flats. Not too heavily populated but horde do outnumber alliance in that zone.

theres alot of good places for grinding for lev 35, i agree with strangle thorn

I level up from 30-40 with my mage in 5 days at arathi highland just do all the quest there and kill the spider and the raptor. They give really nice xp and sometime i even got blue from them.

try being horde every where alliance is is gank town they dont stop if you are attempting stv as horde turn around leave go away lvl 60 alliance evry where and they run in packs of five or more killing lowbies for laughs i hate alliance bad

If i pay the money how can i be sure that i get it all?...
