ok, its quite simple. from what i can gather, the server checks if your inventory is full AFTER it gives you the piece you need from that container. so....
all you need is an equipped backpack. fill up your main inventory until you have 79/80 items. go into the bunker, and click a container to retrieve the imggcu or the hard drive. it will give you an error message that your inventory is full, but youll still get the part. put something into your backpack so youre back down to 79/80 and repeat. get as many of the items as you want, and go back to nym to turn them into slugthrowers.
note - it is easier to leave the imggcus and hard drives in your top level inventory. this way it will make inventory space when you turn them in, and make room for your new nyms. one time i turned them all in from my backpack and got 0 slugthrowers - if you dont have room in your top level inv, you will not get your gun.
edit - obviously this exploit has been around for a while... i figured id submit it anyway in case people hadnt heard it. with the devs nerfing the elemental on nyms almost every publish, i thought this would make life a little easier on people who dont settle for anything less than uber weapons.
if its been submitted before, i think someone should bump the post, as it would help a lot of people out.
