High DPS Warrior Template
Aka Battle Stance Warrior

I personally don't believe in templates. However this template is an attempt to take the warrior further from being a warrior and closer to being a rogue. As a warrior you generally try and max your armor and defense skills. Warriors have forever been "Tanks". The problem with tanks is they lack the damage output to solo effectively. This template allows for both solid soloing and solid PvP. The problems with this template include having a lower armor than most warriors and force you to have good gear. On the upside the higher damage output means your warrior generates more rage. Rage is like a warriors mana in WoW. The more rage you have at hand the better. The higher rage means you can fight monsters 1-2 levels lower than you at a very rapid pace with very little rest.

A lot of the character relies in the talents listed below.

Talents
These are in the suggested order you take them.

- Deflection (5 pts)
- Cruelty (5 pts)
- Improved Charge (2 pts)
- Improved Rend (2 pts)
- Deep Wounds (3 pts)
- Improved Overpower (2 pts)
- Two-Handed Weapon Specialize (5 pts)
- Impale (2 pts)
- Axe Specialization (5 pts)
- Sweeping Strike (1 pt)
- Improved Hamstring (2 pts)
- Mortal Strike (1 pt)
- Improved Demoralizing Shout (5 pts)
- Enrage (5 pts)
- Improved Inner Rage (5 pts)

You will see that these talents add new abilities as well as improve ones you have. You take them for a reason. I won't go over and explain every one of them but its better for you to read the skills yourself so you can more perfectly understand them.

Initial Points About This Template

- Use Battle Stance, as this template you must think more agressively than most warriors. Using active abilities is a must.
- Always engage enemies with charge. Only hold back when a you will possibly start a fight with more enemies than you want
- Use Demoralizing Shout when battles aren't going to end in 2 or 3 hits
- Battle Shout! Battle adds 10% damage in the worst case and every drop counts.
- Rend is a good combat skill. Its fast and rage efficient.
- Use your Talent abilities heavily. Use Mortal Strike and Sweeping Strike. Mortal Strike is powerful so opening a fight with it is a good start.
- Intimidating shout can be used to get you out of a jam. Be weary it can also add more enemies if they bring back friends.
- Inner Rage should be used as frequently as possible.

Primary and Secondary Skills
Because this template is still a warrior taking mining/blacksmithing isn't a bad idea. It will keep you with good gear early on and make leveling easier. If you prefer to buy your weapons/armor you can take herbalism and alchemy to provide you with healing and buff potions that will make overall combat easier and prevent you from dieing. As far as secondary skills Cooking and First Aid are usefull in preventing you from having downtime. Less downtime = more Exp. Your lower armor will mean you have to heal more often and good Cooking/First Aid as well as fishing can help.

PvP Notes
If you're fighting 1 on 1 with someone it's probably best to charge first, hamstring then rend and debuff them. Intimidating shout can be fun versus players also because they won't be able to hurt you and it can sometimes cause them to run directly into a bunch of aggro monsters. When fighting in a group its often best to charge the nearest mage. Your job is to tear into those low armor meat bags as hard as possible. Don't try and play it safe. Grit your teeth and be a man or uhm.. woman.. :D don't be afraid to move around a lot. Some of your attacks will be more likely to land if you stand behind a target. Also other players have attacks that do more damage to your back so be equally aware.

The End.
Post if you see any mistakes or have any insights.
Thanks Oph :D

I tried a warrior once and rage was a big problem for me. Is it still a problem with a template like this or does it make it considerably better?

Yeah it all has to do with how you create your character. Faster hitting higher DPS warriors will generate more rage. Your taking the nice special moves of a warrior and bring yourself closer to being a rogue with rage.

Keeping your equipment up to par strongly supports this character. It can get expensive so if you have a character supplying money thats a plus.

Blacksmithing and Mining won't provide you THE BEST equipment right off but as you get better you can create some nifty blue items.

I use warrior, and for me in pvp improved hamstring is a waste of talents, since patch "improved hamstring" was nerfed by 10% giving 50%movement reduction instead of 40%, and in pvp hamstring doesnt last the 30 seconds its supposed to, you have to keep doing hamstirng every 5-10 seconds or so. Instead i use "piercing shout" it dazes oponents for 6 sec. and nothing can get away from me. I use it to instantly stop sprinting teleporting rouges, not even epic mounts can get away. and intimidating shout is 40% movement speed. As for weapons once you get obsidian edge blade , you can thow your arcanite reaper away! The speed of reaper 3.80 , the obsidian edge blade is 3.40 doesnt seem like much, but its huge diffence. Also improved sword specialization gives 6% chance of getting 2 hits. (but be sure to have at least 20% chance of critical with swords) with this setup i rarely ever loose any pvp 1 on 1 on my server. My talent setup is almost exactly like the setup above. except i use piercing shout instead of hamstring and Improved sword specialization. the leftover talents i put in improved battleshout.
