/savehotkeys : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

I have 2 accounts on EQ2. My daughter asked me the other day why her hotbars kept going back to the old setup. When I looked at the issue I found that /savehotkeys was not saving any files on her machine. I went back to my machine and found the same issue. Hmmm... two machines with the same problem on two different accounts.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas as to a fix?

Hrmm, never heard of that. Your probably best asking in the official tech support forums. Also, you could try deleting all the config files pertaining to the effected characters in your EQ2 directory. Forcing it to create new config files may help.
The config files i'm talking about are named after your character. For example:
charactername_mail.txt
charactername_interface.txt
etc...

I found some posts on this and I'm not sure why some setups allow full pathing and some stop taking full pathing - like mine did. This problem was identified in 2005. Anyway, it seems a work around on this issue is to stop using a path name when you use the /savehotkeys command. You must use:

/savehotkeys filename.dat

This will save the file into the EQ2 game directory.

I -think- you have to put the .dat on the end of it also

IE: /savehotkeys doobze.dat

-not-

/savehotkeys doobze
