windower TnL (hook conflict) : FFXI General Discussions

my laptop does not support hardware TnL. fortunately, the new two versions of windower from ffxi.archbell.com added hardware TnL caps to allow my laptop to use software TnL. so, after that addition, i am able to play the game on my laptop with windower.

however, ffxi on my laptop will not tolerate using both XU and windower at the same time. i use XU and windower together on my desktop, and the two apps hook seamlessly. it seems that whenever the system does not support hardware TnL, windower attempts to make a specific hook to hide this fact. it also seems that XU makes the same hook that this TnL cap hook makes, and when i run both XU and windower, the hardware TnL cap support breaks (ffxi dumps back to POL with the TnL error).

has anyone discovered a way to remedy this?

Me, i use de jp windower in my laptop with xu and works great...
