Lag spikes... getting them? : FFXI General Discussions

anyone else getting lots of Lag spikes (drops donw to 90% or so then back up) past month or so. It happening alot and i do see others getting the D/C do then coming like its a spike. SE tech support sugested it a port setting issue on my router that came about in a recent patch.
Anyone else getitng this?
and it not just happening on windowers it on Ps2 and non window as well for me.
just want to get and idea how many getting this to.

There is a big problem with comcast on the east coast. Maybe that associates with you.

alright thnx for the input!. This has been going on for about 1.5 months or so. Anyways changing my ISP this week due to this and othe problems had with them.
AFter about 6 hours or so today on the phone with my ISP, and Sisco, determined its definlty somthing with the ISP not FFXI.

Damn... That explains a lot >.<.... God damn Comcast....

Read how comcast banned all of google today haha.

Roadrunner did all they could to help but could not fix the issue.
On verizon now and no issues at all what soever. thanks for everyones advice in this matter!

on a side note: my 2nd copy of XU on my machine with the intel grapics onboard chip that i have never been able to get to work, yeah it works now! w00tz! dont know if it the new isp or the XU team may have chagnged somthing since last time i tryed to log that one.
I am happy my conetion good again AND i have XU working on 2nd machine now!

try tracerouting to the game server... see what other countries you go through

comcast in general is a horrible horrible company, ive had 9 *yes nine* technicians come out, each of them saying different things 2 sets

4 spanish tech's took 1 look at the cables and say well u need them upgraded there very old, even scheduled stuff infront of us and nothing happened later (4 weeks went by), gave us an amp (did help a very tiny bit but did still disconnect randomly)

5 african american tech's simply came in, said it was working and theres nothing they can do till its not working while there here.

i call tech support they say well we see ur struggling to keep a connection, all we can do is send a tech out for that problem.

the 10'th technician came out this morning and installed something that, get this

LMAO , it lowers the signal and keeps it low so that you cant stress it and dissconnect (90 R / S in ffxi and lower sometimes)


imo comcast is the worse company and im surprised there still in buisness.
