you can also buy the chicken feed before you spam, saves having to find the chicken again. the /cheer bit isnt needed. it works on all servers for all factions,. but im not sure where horde can get chicken feed....

also the horde have to stand a bit further away when they accept the quest else they kill the chicken ^^

Tri, they don't take easter eggs/things like these out of the game usually..... they're intended so there'd be no reason why it wouldn't work.

This is the prarie chicken. Horde and alliance BOTH can get an anacona chicken. Just a lil FYI on the favoritism. Alliance also doesn't have a leet shrine for a fallen blizzard member in any of there zones. (COUGH THE BARRENS COUGH). I believe there's a mechanical chicken as well. Not 100% on that, but I'm PRETTY sure my pet collecter has it. I have every minipet except the fanfaire murloc and the ember spider. Well, I don't have lil smokey either, but I find him annoying except when me and my guildies go into gadgetzan with about 8 of us running around following noob hordes to annoy em lol.

as of 4/12/06 I confirm that this is an active quest to the patch after 1.10(nerfing mounting on BRM/AQ40 cave exploit).

I will try to summerise the quide to this nice hidden quest.

1.go buy the 25c chicken feed from the guy standing infront of the house at Saldeans farm in westfall.

2. go to the chicken farm in elwinn forest about (35,54)

3. Target one of the 6 chickens and set up a macro to do "/chicken"

4. Spam the macro until it says in orange text "the chicken looks at you quizitivly, maybe you should inspect it"

5. the chicken's name will then be green and you can right click him and get a quest(remember that if you are a higher level you will not see the exclimation mark indicating he has a quest)

6. accept the quest and keep targeting the chicken type in "/chicken" then "/cheer" and he will have a questionmark above him

7. right click him and turn in the chicken feed

8. in about 5-10 seconds you will see a spawned egg on the ground next or under him.

9.right click to receive your [chicken egg]

I hope that is a little simpler and helps people out with the quest. I would like to try to confirm if this quest is possible for horde.

..... You can like.... totally do this quest on any chicken..... and targeting the chickens for the turn in and positioning is hard for some people, most seem to get frustrated with it and write it off as bologna.....

I know this post is kinda dead, REALLY dead, but to set things straight you have to /chicken the chicken 100 times without doing anything else. Takes about 20 seconds.

Wow, surprised no one has pointed out the exploit for this. Not sure it still works but my Horde got the Prairie Chicken easily, I got a friend to make an alliance on my Horde server so he could activate the quest, when the egg spawns on the ground anyone even a horde player can pick it up. I figured it out when I first did the quest back in 1.4 and someone ninja'd the egg when I finished it. So I got the idea to try it with my horde. They may have changed it, it has been a while snce I checked. If someone can check this, maybe on a PvE so you don' get ganked...
