Ive gotten my pet to the same lvl as me and his loyalty lvl is 6 but i still dont have enought training points to teach him more skills. What other ways are there to earn more training points for my pet?

Well lets say ur 70, the max level. U go to outlands and tame a 69 beast there. U tame it and it u kill some mobs until it dings. BUT it will have the training points available only from lvl 69-70 so if u want a really HARDCORE pet i suggest u get 1 from the barrens or something thats under lvl 20 so that until lvl 70 it will get LOADS of training points and u can train it in stamina/armor/resistances/attacks and so on ;)
Im a 52 mage but i also have a 42 hunter so thats how i know what i just told u :D

Cheers ;)

That is a COMPLETE waste of time. I play hunter myself to, I'm 70 now and I can tell you, your pet always ends up with the same training points, because if you tame it under your level it will have -X training points from the start.

The trick to get the best skills is to get you and your pet at the max lvl and loyalty lvl. Once you have that, train him the skills you want, but only the highest level skills. That's the only way to max your pet skills. But ofcourse, try to find a pet with tamed abilities of the highest level so that you don't have to spend training points on learning the skills to your pet.

Stephanmystic is correct. The pet will always end up with the same training points. The real trick is to retrain the pet at lvl 70, rather than just finding a new one. It costs one gold at the pet trainers, and refunds all your pets training points. Another good tip is that LEVELING is a major factor in pet loyalty level. If you tame a lvl 69 pet, you'll spend around a month with it before the pet is at max loyalty level. You cannot upgrade pet skills for a reduced price, so you should ALWAYS RESET YOUR PETS TRAINING POINTS WHEN YOU REACH LVL 70! Also, the two or three days spent leveling a pet two or three levels is well worth it compared to a month of having an untrained pet!

It might take a long time for you to bring up his loyalty but that is because of this:
Loyalty will once increase when you let your pet attack monsters! If you don't do this it won't increase happiness.
