Are all powerlvl'ers thiefs? : World of Warcraft General Discussions

Well I did a powerlvl with !@#$%^&*, and while they where lvl'ing my char, the say that my account was "hacked" and all my items and gold are stolen,...
A bit weird, don't you think?

Anyone else with such stories?

I somehow feel this being a bit ironic considering what kind of site I´m posting on.
But I have never scammed any induvidual ingame for either items or gold and i never will either.

I just recently bought powerleveling service from http://www.mmogcart.com/ after getting my character to lvl 17 they get my account banned for 3rd party software, i mean wtf I hired them since I didn´t wanna risk "gliding" or anything like that myself, but oh well I figured i may aswell just let that account go since it was newluy made just for that leveling.
Instead I figured I´d just buy a gold package instead 10 000 for 225$ sounded fair considering they did lvl to 17 even though they got my account banned.

3 days with their live support, talking to over 20 people and it sometimes felt like such an easy thing would be solved, Even if the support even admited the guy who was in "charge" of the powerleveling lied to him and claimed to have gotten my character to lvl 49 in the first day, a quick armory link paste shut that part up prety fast.

E-mailed back and forth with the contact I had from the payment and it´s now clear that they will not give me anything whatsoever or return me my gold. I must admit loosing 250$ feels like !@#$%^&* since i doubt paypal will be able to get my money back either.
The only funny thing about this was the level of English some of theese people had, now I´m not an English expert in any way but some of thoose support calls was just hillarious, I have saved some transcripts and e-mails if anyone demands "proof" about this.

And tell all your friends to do the same, sadly I do not know what other sites are tied to the same support since they seemed to be supporting for a lot more then just 1 site and also some of the supporters where actually really nice but it all ended with some "guy" at the end being extremely impossible.

I just got a new mail showing that www.itemrate.com is somehow linked aswell.

But I think all those powerlvl'ers are the same,...
And what I found even more worse --> SOE allows powerleveling! they don't ban you if you are botting or outsourcing the leveling!

and Did you get instanly a permanent ban?
Cus I wonder, if blizzard catches you with powerleveling, do they ban you first 3 days or so as a warning? or is it bang! permanent ban?

I have never paid for lvl'n but a buddy did it, and got perma banned. THey told him the active IP address did not match the IP address that was used for the account activation.

so that means, when you activate your account you may NEVER EVER play from another location? a bit weird imho.
also many providers hand out dynamic ip's,... so you never have the same ip, and it would also mean you may not change provider either???

Well, in theory, you did not recieved your goods,... as it was not completed,...

Well, in theory, they aren't responsible since when you buy service from them you're agreeing to their Terms and Conditions that says you won't hold them liable for anything that happens.

I have leveled many toons from Power leveling sites and have had some good and bad experiences. After getting burned and learning form my mistakes, here are some steps that you should do before power levleing.

1. Buy another WOW Game (Brand new Retail)

2. Create a new character on that new account that you want to level. (Never use your main account)

3. Let them power level that account and transfer off to your main account when done.

The reason you do this is, the power leveling sites are not https. Meaning anyone can see and view the page. When you register with them and put in your username and password, you might as well just post that in the trade channel in game.

The reason for the other account is because you do not want to log into that account EVER while they are leveling. Blizzard tracks IP's and if lets say they are in china, and you login from the US, your account is flagged as sharing and it will get banned. How do you keep track of level? Well Armory of course, or you can keep track of your toon in game through your main character. As soon as your toon is at the level you want, change the password on the account via wow's webpage and wait at least 24 hours before logging in just to be safe. After 24 hours you are free to transfer that toon to your main account. I know it's an xtra $25 but I like to think of that as "Insurance money" as to keep my WOW account with all my gold and characters from getting banned or stolen.

Using a new account minimizes the risk of you losing your main account and characters via ban or hack. All of these seem common sense but I am amazed at how many people gethacked or banned via power levbleing site.

I have had recent success (3 characters) with game-sale.com. They are relatively cheap, I think I paid $125 from 1-60. The reason i did that is from 60-70 is where you make most of your gold. You want to keep that gold for yourself and not have some chinese power leveler take that gold and sell it. Besides 60-70 is easy to do versus 1-60. One downfall is they dont quest much, they pure grind and the Flight Paths were not all there. Other then that, thye started on my toon in about an hour form placing the order and finished on time or even a day before promised date.

Follow these steps and your power levleling experience should be smooth. Like anything this is not 100%, but what it does is it minimizes your losses if something were to happen. Hope this info helps.

The problem for me was that they got my account banned after reaching lvl 17, I mean how easy must their bot have been to detect then?

Also they refused to pay me back or give me any other compensation, Also I knew paypal wasn´t responsible, but it was pretty clear they did not put any effort into the matter since I was never even contacted, the "investigation has started" and the "investigation has ended" was even included in the same mail, without anyone contacting me whatsoever about the proof in form of screenshots I have, I even have a screenshot where 1 supporter admits that the guy doing the actual powerleveling lied to him.

Needless to say it´s a risky buisnness indeed, I even used a site that I thought was rather big and still got this problem so think carefully before you decide to let anyone do this for you, I think it would have been a lot safer for me to just try gliding it myself.

I have a friend who is a "professional powerleveler" for a few sites which I dont know off the top of my head, and i know for a fact he glides every single account. I would just totally stay away from all of them.
