Have I been caught? o.O : FFXI General Discussions

So I was using xifish on normal in Windurst Woods. I went afk for a while (noob I know) and when I got back I was in Aht Urghan Whitegate. I wasn't in a party for someone to d2 me, I couldn't have fished up a monster in a city, I had no new names when I checked reply (ctrl+r) to see if I had any GM tells. I assumed if I'd been caught I'd be straight up banned, spended or at least left to rot in some GM holding cell until I got back. Any ideas on what might've happened? o.O Its freakin me out >.>

Were you on a job that could have warped yourself either via spell or item? If not I have no idea...

I suggest moving to Canada. Smuggle some vegetables while your at it.

Could have just been a glitch... I would take it easy with any type of botting for a while though.

Well i remember the days when i used to bot from ac tools those where hard days, and i remember that 1st measure GM will take on me was to warp me to my hp if i continue boting they will jail me and suspend me and if im back from suspension and i continue they will ban me, so i think you got a kind GM and he warped you to your hp.

One more thing, gm wont speak to you in tell mode cuz they know theres a lot of ways to detect a tell, they will popup an option window with a question and some answers if you fail to answer they will take action, so forget it ctr+t.

Actually, that's not necessarily true, blak. It depends on the GM you get, and also depends on what the GM is contacting you about.

For AFK botters, they will SOMETIMES use the popup box, but other times they will speak with you.

Can't generalize like that, because it's not always true... Then again, nothing is ever written in stone on this planet, so technically absolutely nothing is always true... Even gravity, I mean seriously... In 10 years no one is going to remember what this so-called "gravity" is... LOL I had to say that hahaha

well, its been a while so I assume if they were going to ban me theyd have done it by now. Im taking at least a few weeks off of botting, and many many many moons before I do it without being there, even long enough to go the bathroom. Its made me paranoid. *shakes fist*

Note to fishing bot writers: Detect significant rapid changes in position / zone and stop on them.

Im pretty sure XIFish at least gets killed during the zone. Not because it detects position change but because it tries to fish during the zone and cant detect a rod

dont worry, you might get mob fished and got you killed. It happens to me when i was only afk for like 10 mins and noticed i was killed by mob I fished.

I rarely go afk while botting. Even using major fishing bot.
