1. Make your dilithium and refine it.

2. Go to the Dilithium Exchange

3. Exchange Dilithium for Zen.

4. Logout that Captain, and Sign into other Captain.

5. Exchange Zen for Dilithium.

6. Enjoy and use in good health.

Isn't dilithium refinement limits an account-wide limitation? This also doesn't work for switching between accounts.

I'll check this when i get home, but otherwise shouldn't work as advertised.

It'd be silly if I could refine 8000/dilithium per day, per character, on one account. I'd be rolling in 24,000/dilithium per day if this were possible as advertised.

He is not refering to the actual refining limit here, he's talking about moving already refined dilithium from one captain to another, on the same account.

The refining limit of 8000 is per captain, not per account. So yeah, if you have two captains, you can refine up to 16000 dil per day. But what if you want to use the 16000 dil on one captain only ? Thats what the OP was about.

The OP method is valid, but you suffer a small loss if you actually purchase zen with one captain and then transfer it back to dilithium with another captain. But there's a way to prevent this : you need to post the zen purchase at a low amount, so the transaction doesn't actually go through.
Example:
Captain 1 offers to buy 1000 zen at a cost of 50 dilithium per zen, putting up 50000 dilithium. At the current exchange rate of around 127 dil per zen, the offer will stay there and not get converted to zen. If it does, that yay for you. Convert it back to dil and you just more than doubled your amount of initial dil!
Step 2: log on to another captain on the same account, and cancel the offer. the refined dilithium will be returned.
