what errors are you getting exactly?

Did you uncheck Hook Gamepad?

the error is playonline has encountered an erroe and needs to clos. We are sorry for this inconvenience, and yes hook gamepad in unchecked, does it need to be checked? Can you send me a screenshot of all you setting with the new version, i found some with the older version but this has more settings. Here is my most recent error log

Ok trying and trying i found a way to make XU work for me so i will share my findings.

1.- Do not use external windower, archbel or jp just dont use it.

My launchpaht: ...\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\polboot.exe
replace with yours.

2.- Use Dialong Option unclick the rest of this box

3.- i have selected,
- Use Random FileNames
- Force Redraw
- Ignore DirectInput
- Hook DX 8

Cleared the rest

Enjoy....

Im fishing rigth now... tested it in 2 computers one ati and one nvidia without disabling the vga managers (ati or nvidia)

However, before you try that, can you do one test for me?

Check Ignore DirectInput and see if it makes a difference? I am wondering if that is what is messing people up.. since the last line is about a input device.

i will try that stuff in a little while im in an exp pt atm so as soon as i have a chance to log to pc ill give it a go, thanks for the help and ill let you know how it goes

I just put out a patch that includes some tweaks. If yo can test it and report to use it would help.

Try with/without Gamepad checked.
Try with/without ignore directinput checked

ok first run i tried with the alternat hooking off an d the hook gamepad on i didnt get the error message but it froze in the spot i usually get the error at here is the log

are you still using another windower? or you are open the game from its original files?

i am loging into the game from the play button in xunleahed

umm i know but in options theres a launchpath and most people replace the original launchpath with the launcher.exe path, thats what i mean.

Double check maybe there is your problem.

Uncheck hook gamepad, CHECK ignore directinput..

if that still fails, try unplugging your gamepad from the computer and see if it works then.
