You have to have at least 200 imp faction to join.

This does not work reb to imp.

Just tried it. Resigned my reb military status, then retired as neutral ace, then went to Imp pilot trainer, he says I need to be a member of the military first. Military recruiter tells me I can't join because I was just a reb.

So, no work from reb to imp.

Nay so far for me, I have a Rebel with -2000 Imperial faction and I can't switch to Imperial using this method. What gives?

There are a couple different explanations of this trick, so depends which one you are following. If none of them work, it may have been nerfed.

yea, but what about going imp from rebel, i like to pvp 2 much, and i cant wait 5 days, its really annoying i wish they would change it

I wish they'd make it more difficult and add a quest series to it.

I dislike being able to faction hop at anytime, and think people should pick a side and stick with it, instead of jumping back and forth to the winning side.

Thats just my opinion though, and I understand some people just want the badges.

still works as of march 12. if your having trouble with this one i had to go from imp pilot to freelance pilot then drop that and go to rebel.

Sorry to necro this post but it works like this (Imp - Reb).

It does not work the opposite way (Reb - Imp).

I think it's a devs sick idea of funny. They are following the fiction. Very few (if any actually) people went Rebel - Imp. There are tons of fictionally documented characters going from Imp - Reb though.

I think it's a bug in the system that is intentional and will probably never be fixed.

This is not nerfed. It worked just fine for me on two of my toons today to go from Imperial to Rebel.

Steps I took:

1) Resigned from Imperial by talking to Recruiter outside Bestine Starport.

2A) One toon was a Imp pilot, so he skipped down to step 3, the other toon was a Freelance pilot and had to resign from the Freelance Group by talking to the recruiter in the Bestine Hotel (behind the bar).

3) Talk to Rebel Pilot Recruiting Robot in Moenia, Naboo. He is just inside the Gazeebo thing outside the starport. Use your overhead map to find him.

Bingo - Imperial to Rebel in 5 minutes with two toons.

Yep, still working.

I was Imp with Imp Pilot. Resigned from Imperial Pilot, then resigned from Imperial, then talked to Rebel Pilot Trainer, in which case was rebel immediately.

This works, has not been nerfed.
